All the photos that made us hungry this week

Carrie Wong

What she ate: Fried chicken and milk tea in Taipei Xi Men Ding

Yummy factor: Technically this is a throwback to her Taipei trip, but having tried this iconic night market grub ourselves, we totally feel Carrie’s ache through her caption: “Please give me back my Taiwanese fried chicken and milk tea…[crying emoji].”

Yummy factor: Ladies, print this out and give it to your SO because this is what a real breakfast in bed ought to look like. (Valentine’s Day isn’t that far away...)

Chua Enlai

What he ate: Oriental Bolognese, Find the Chicken in the Chillies, and Grilled Cheese Panini at Birds of a Feather

Yummy factor: From the looks of those Sichuan peppers, we wouldn’t be able to feel our tongues after.

What he ate: Soft tacos, a burrito bowl and Mexican cola at Guzman Y Gomez

Yummy factor: Looks like Joshua is ramping up the protein intake for his workout, but what’s a Mexican meal without some guacamole?

What she ate: Gyoza, chasu and onsen over rice at Gyoza-ya for Monday’s lunch

Yummy factor: We’re embarrassed to admit we just licked our lips at the sight of that fatty pork belly.

Kate Pang

What she ate: Leftover organic chicken and corn soup for her “mummy afternoon tea” at home

Yummy factor: “Really a mum now” and “Frugality is virtue” were among the hashtags Kate used for this as-real-as-it-gets snapshot of mummy life. It ain’t pretty pastries and bite-sized tea sandwiches, but at least Kate’s soup looks chockfull of flavour and nutrition.

What she ate: A Burmese breakfast of you tiao, fried egg over rice and teh susu at a typical tea shop in Myanmar – which doesn’t actually look too different from what we’d find in our kopitiam

Yummy factor: It’d take an iron stomach to down all that chili first thing in the morning, but the crispy you tiao is calling our name.

What he ate: Stewed pork leg rice at Rod Fai Market in Thailand

Yummy factor: It had to taste awesome if it made Dylan look that happy.

Jade Seah

What she ate: Dry ramen at Kajiken

Yummy factor: Too generous on the spring onions, maybe? After consuming this avalanche, we hope Jade had a mint or five.

What she ate: Soya bean milk and you tiao in Taipei

Yummy factor: Is it weird that we're more interested in her personalised jacket than her food?

What she ate: A crepe from a Taiwanese night market

Yummy factor: Taiwan’s night market crepe wraps are legendary, stuffed to the brim with savoury or sweet fillings and unbelievably crispy. The meal-sized portion leaves your tummy more than satisfied – a different story from the overpriced and thin, flaccid crepes we often get here.

What she ate: Smoked salmon and eggs benedict at Gudetama Café

Yummy factor: “I almost didn’t have the heart to poke through. For like 2 seconds la…then in my tummy it went,” Jean wrote about the Gudetama eggs. Almost word for word, that’s how we feel about most of the too-cute-to-eat foods out there.

What she ate: Triple Crunch frozen yogurt from Milk & Honey

Yummy factor: We’d follow the yellow brick road for this dreamy dessert.

Oon Shu An

What she ate: Pineapple biscuits, prawn crackers, ear biscuits, apalam, chocolate wafers, and other old school snacks

Yummy factor: Pringles and Doritos have nothing on these Penang-style favourites. With a haul this big, Shu An could open her own mini snack stall.

Tosh Zhang

What he ate: Chinese New Year snacks including butter cookies blended with Parmesan cheese, almond cookies, and a butter fortune cake from Polar Puffs and Cakes.

Yummy factor: After ang baos, scrumptious snacks like these are what we love best about Chinese New Year. Tosh’s expression tells us he feels the same.

Nat Ho

What he ate: A cannoli from Ferrara Bakery & Café in New York City’s Little Italy

Yummy factor: “Don’t tell me I can’t cos’ I cannoli,” Nat wrote in what might be the cheesiest food caption yet. It’s a no brainer that this cannoli tasted as divine as it looks, seeing as the fifth generation Italian bakery (open since 1892) is one of NYC’s oldest bakeries.

What she ate: Jerk chicken sandwich with avocado salsa criolla and Swiss cheese at Roast in Bangkok

Yummy factor: “Uhmayzing,” according to Yasminne. Knowing that a sandwich comes with avocado makes us 10x more likely to order it – does anyone else do the same?

Thomas Ong

What he ate: Fried rice, fishcake beehoon soup, and fried mee

Yummy factor: Say goodbye to New Year, New You dieting resolutions. If only our healthy (aka rabbit food) meal prep could look like this.

Muttons

What they ate: Charcoal Shibuya Honey Toast at After You Dessert in Bangkok

Yummy factor: It doesn’t look as over-the-top as some of the Shibuya toast creations we’ve seen, and the charcoal here plays on the aesthetic rather than the actual taste, but bread and ice cream almost never disappoint. We hope it was worth the calories.

Wallace Ang

Wallace Ang

What he ate: Black burger at L.table in Johor Bahru

Yummy factor: This addition to the charcoal trend’s got our attention as well, though the bun looks oddly glazed.

Rosalyn Lee

What she ate: Brioche French toast, house cooked ham and bacon ice cream at Bochinche

Yummy factor: Put it this way: Rozz cancelled her juicy burger order in favour of this (it was the bacon ice cream that got her). There aren’t many things that we’d sacrifice our burgers for, but this could be one of them.

What she drank: Red wine with Carrie Wong on one of their #HayRie nights out

Yummy factor: Nothing like a glass of wine to end a long week. TGIF, guys, clink clink.
