1. Buy stuff that makes your conscience feel good

Watches made from recycled drink cans by folks with disabilities. Plush toys handcrafted by the hearing-impaired and physically-disabled. Cards that enable poor Thai children to buy books. Ceramic goods that help the homeless in Singapore. These are just some of the awesome things you can buy at Be Movement, a 1,200 sq ft pop-up store at Liang Court run by the folks behind the Be Movement magazines, publications with a socially-conscious bent. A gander around the store will make your heart — and your wallet — light and happy. Spend $50 to get their Singapore or Bali issue free. Tell them we sent you.

Be Movement is on till September at #01-20 Liang Court, 177 River Valley Road, Tel: 9469-1556.

If you haven’t made a concerted effort to be eco-friendly yet this Earth Month, start by getting these gorgeous heels ($199) and pretty earrings ($24.90) from H&M’s Conscious Exclusive 2015 collection. The shoes are made from organic cow leather, and the earrings are made from recycled sequins and metal. 3. Gawk at “odd knitted creatures”

Strange woodland creatures and other whimsical entities have landed on our sunny isle. UK textile artist Donna Wilson’s quirky knitted oddities are on display at K+, a curatorial space at Scotts Square. Expect ginormous knitted foxes, cushions shaped like clouds, plates and tea towels featuring bears and squirrels and scarves and socks shaped like animals. Everything is for sale (plates start from $49 and cushions from $105). So, do you need a giant knitted fox in your living room?

K+ Donna Wilson is at #03-14/15, Scotts Square till May 31.

4. Get ginseng-ed up

Is it psychological or did we feel more energetic and zingy (and typed this sentence faster) after downing a bottle of Brand’s Gen U Ginseng Nutritive Drink? The tasty beverage contains natural ginseng extracts and Vitamin Bs to enhance short-term memory, attention and analytical thinking. Then there’s Korean beauty brand Sulwhasoo’s new Capsulized Ginseng Fortifying Serum that uses the power of ginseng to promote collagen synthesis and dispel deep wrinkles caused by loss of skin elasticity and resilience.

Brand’s is $3.50 per bottle or $28 for a pack of 8 from convenience stores and supermarkets; Sulwhasoo is $198 at Sulwhasoo counters, available in May.

5. Go para-para sakura on your feet

If you missed the sakura season in Japan (actually, if you fly to Hokkaido like now, you may still catch the cherry blossoms), you can wear sakuras on your feet, sorta, with Puma’s The Sakura Project shoes, a collab with sneaker designer Ronnie Fieg inspired by the colours and beauty of sakura blossoms.

$230 to $250 from Limited Edt stores.
