Having enjoyed a myriad of activities that dotted our year-long SG50 celebration, the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown will mark the conclusion of our Golden Jubilee Year for Singapore. And for the first time, an eight-minute fireworks display, which is choreographed to music composed by local musician Julian Wong, will span the entire Marina Bay.

As Singaporeans prepare to welcome the New Year, we planned a list of events that you may participate in. So go on, get out and celebrate.

As part of the celebration, 21 wishing stations were set up all around the island since mid-November for the public to pen their wishes on special wishing spheres. Whilst the stations are no longer available, you can still do so virtually. The wishing spheres, which represent the collective wishes of everyone for Singapore, have been installed in Marina Bay and are lit from 26 to 31 Dec, forming a spectacular visual arts installation.

What better way to usher in the New Year than with a huge BANG? Similar to previous years, the New Year countdown celebration will culminate in a dazzling firework display as the clock strikes twelve. Unlike other years however, this year’s eight-minute long firework display will span across the entire Marina Bay skyline, so visitors will not have to jostle for the best vantage points. Touted as "the most complex pyrotechnic show” yet by producers, the display will feature a massive array of fireworks effects ranging from sky comets, swimming stars, to blooming flowers that’s set off simultaneously to a rhapsodic score composed by local music director Julian Wong.
