Chicken Curry
Growing up with my grandmother, I used to be always around her – from the market to her kitchen. My grandmother had never touched prepacked spiced powders. It was so amazing to watch her milled her own spices for cooking. So I milled my own spice powders for the above dish. From what I remember, her traditional way of cooking great dishes was one of the factors that got me interested in cooking. Sharing food is seriously the best way I know to show affection. If it makes someone smile, it's totally worth it! I personally believe my interpretation of my Chicken Curry is a stroke of genius and well captures the global mood of ‘What is old is new again’ and going back to time-honored methods by using modern equipments such as Philips AIR FRYER and BLENDER. As an aspiring young chef I need to loosen up and have some dining fun. Choosing fresh produce on a consistence basis are my fundamental needs when I’m cooking Curries.

Gula Melaka Coconut and chrysanthemum Infused Barley
Barley water is an oldie but a goodie for a hot summer's day, or in Singapore's context, a hot day. It cools your internal 'fire', so it not only soothes a parched throat, but all heat-related signs, raging irritability and pimples included. I could have change it up and add a squeeze of lemon for a zesty burst the English way, or add chrysanthemum for a traditional Chinese detoxifying treat. Or make both since it's so freaking simple. Coconut water is the ultimate thirst quencher and offers a tasty alternative to water. This pure liquid is packed with nutrients that yield an array of health benefits. Coconut water is a very refreshing drink to beat tropical summer thirst. Its liquid is packed with simple sugars, electrolytes, and minerals to replenish dehydration conditions inside the human body. According to Chinese medicine, chrysanthemum tea is also one of the best things to drink for “cooling” your system. Eat too much Curry food or drink too many booze over the weekend? Then drink some chrysanthemum tea to get rid of the excess “heat” in your body. It purportedly prevents sore throats and reduces fever, maybe even reduces blood pressure. As for me, I drink it because it’s soothing and, unlike coffee or even black tea I can sip it all day long knowing I won’t toss ‘n turn at night.
