Richard Nicoll will not show a collection at London Fashion Week.

The 37-year-old fashion designer has announced he will skip showing his eponymous womenswear line at the event, which starts next month, in order to "pause" and think about the future, reports Vogue magazine.

He said: "The decision to skip a season was in order to consolidate my business strategy. In the 10 years that I have been doing my label, the fashion seasonal structure has changed a lot with increased seasons and commercial pressures. I feel it is the right time to pause and think of the best and the most relevant way forward for now."

Nicoll's shows are known to have attracted him a host of celebrity fans, including Rooney Mara and Anne Hathaway.

Anne's stylist Penny Lovell reached out to him to select her look for the world premiere of 'Instellar' in October after falling in love with a midnight blue silk slip dress from his Spring/Summer 2015 collection at London Fashion Week.

He said at the time: "Anne's stylist, Penny Lovell has been a great supporter of the brand and reached out to us straight after the Spring Summer 2015 presentation. Penny has a great eye for directional red carpet looks and is a big supporter of LFW designers."

Nicoll - who made his London Fashion Week debut in 2006 - previously worked at Cerutti and Louis Vuitton before founding his own label.

The brand was expanded to include menswear in 2012 after being financed by an anonymous investor.

As well as being announced as the new creative director of Jack Wills last year, he has also designed a successful capsule collection for Fred Perry and a bridal range for high street store Topshop.
