Crikey, has it really been 2 years since we last 'pizza-ed' our way around Singapore in search for the best pizza in Singapore?

Well, we decided it was time to rectify that and sacrifice hours of gym time eating pizza at pretty much every decent place in Singapore. I won't tell you the shortlist, because I might start getting cheese sweats just thinking about it. I am all pizza-ed out and  it's time to present the results.

So guys, here are 15 places with close to perfect crusts and quality ingredients. It's been really hard to decide on the order so I'm afraid this is going to be un-numbered. Check it.

Pizzeria Mozza

I have to admit, my first visit to Mozza was only a few months ago after hearing again and again how good it was. So after the missus and I took a seat at the pizza making counter, we started to get a clearer idea on why these guys are so well known.

Despite being a 'Celebrity Chef' restaurant, this place is surprisingly no frills. Just great food, service and in a reasonably priced package. Watching the dough makers at work is foodie theatre enough. The taste - exquisite.

Pizzeria Mozza is located at 2 Bayfront Avenue, #B1-42/46 The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, 018972. Tel: +65 6688 8522

Pietrasanta

Pietrasanta

One of Singapore's longest running and favourite Italian restaurants overall, it's no surprise that their pizzas are so good (along with the rest of their menu!). A chewy but flavourful crust and a delicious range of topping. For example, their Tartufo Nero ($23.90) pizza is a bit of a truffle explosion.

Pietrasanta is located at 5B Portsdown Rd, Singapore 139311. Tel: +65 6479 9521

Etna

Etna

A rich centre packed with toppings, encircled by a contrastingly crispy outer crust is what makes the pizzas (starting at $18) at one of our favourite Italian restaurants so good . We're particularly fond of the Pizza Sicilian Bella – a vegetarian tomato-based pizza furnished with pesto, baked eggplant and thick Parmesan cheese.

Etna is located at 50 Duxton Road, Singapore 089534. Tel: +65 6220 5513

Cicheti

Cicheti

Despite not being a dedicated pizzeria, I was completely taken aback by how good the pizza are here. Soft yet stable thin crist and absolutely fresh, high quality ingredients. The shape of the pizzas are certainly not 'uniform' like in other restaurants, giving them a very homemade feel. However, that doesn't detract from the taste, which is superb.

Cicheti is located at 52 Kandahar Street, Singapore 198901. Tel: +65 6292 5012

Café Melba

Thin crusted Melbournian pizzas available in 9, 12 or 16 inch versions are the order of the day at Cafe Melba. We especially love the Three Little Pigs pizza, which comes with bacon, honey ham and pepperoni, and the Chilli Crab pizza. Starting from $18 for a 9 inch.

Café Melba is located at Goodman Arts Centre, 90 Goodman Road, Singapore 439053. Tel: +65 6440 6068

La Barca

La Barca

Perfect slightly raised crust, a soft yet firm base and a good balance of tomato sauce and cheese. If you're looking for a respectable slice of pizza , give the pizza at La Barca a go. Pizzas start from $20.

La Barca is located at Goodman Arts Centre, 90 Goodman Road, Singapore 439053. Tel: +65 9710 8208

Bottura

Bottura

Bottura is one of Singapore's newest wallet-friendly Italian eateries. And despite its location at Suntec (hands up if you hate 'mall restaurants'), this eatery is definitely worth a visit. Their fare is pretty authentic and this extends to their pizzas, which are perfectly sized for one, or good for sharing as part of a meal. Expect to pay around $12-24 for a pizza depending on ingredients.

Bottura is located at Suntec City Mall Tower 1 #02-472/473/474, Singapore 038983. Tel: +65 6238 7527

Sopra Cucina & Bar

Although Sopra's original Sardinian Executive Chef has long since moved on, the quality of Sopra's pizzas remain top notch. Oh, and did we mention that they are open until midnight every night of the week? Great spot for late night supper.

Sopra Cucina & Bar is located at 10 Claymore Road, Singapore 229540. Tel: +65 6737 0811

Trapizza

Trapizza

You've probably never heard of this place. The name might make you want to roll your eyes, but its location, price and overall offering make it worth a visit. Located on the beach by the Shangri La Rasa Resort Sentosa, it's definitely not the most convenient of pizza spots. However, you tell me one other place where you can get good pizza, frozen margaritas and massive salads, all on the beachside for affordable prices. Exactly.

Trapizza is located at 10 Siloso Beach Walk, Singapore 098970. Tel: +65 6376 2662

La Brezza

La Brezza

Located by the pool at the St Regis Hotel, La Brezza's new Chef Moioli offers some classic Italian thin crust pizza pies with some exceptional ingredients. Unfortunately the price is reflected as such, meaning even a basic margherita would cost $34! For best value, I'd suggest taking advantage of their Sunday brunch and ordering an a la carte pizza as its included in the overall price.

La Brezza is located at The St. Regis Singapore, Level Two, 29 Tanglin Road, Singapore 247911. Tel: +65 6506 6884

Al Forno

Al Forno

Al Forno is the Italian gem of the East. Located along East Coast Road, this long-standing establishment (founded in 1995! An eternity for a restaurant) is a firm favourite for Easties. Aside from the excellent Italian fare, their traditional wood fire pizzas are a clear crowdpleaser. Expect to pay $22-30 for their classic Napolitan pizzas.

Al Forno is located at 400 East Coast Road, Singapore 428996. Tel: +65 6348 8781

Pizzeria L'Operetta

Pizzeria L'Operetta

Apparently Pizzeria L'Operetta is the only pizzeria in Singapore to dish up VPN (Vera Pizza Napoletana) certified pizzas. Doughy, yet thin crusts, gorgeous tomato sauce and fine Italian toppings for these. Italian pizzas, run by Japanese. You know it's going to be good.

Pizzeria L'Operetta is located at Icon Village #01-78-81, 12 Gopeng Street, Singapore 078877. Tel: +65 6222 9487

ALT Pizza

ALT Pizza

When our good friend Chef Shen Tan exclaimed her love for ALT, we know we had to swing by and check it out. ALT probably has the most playful menu on this list. Veering away from tradition, you can find menu items like The Hangover, Dangerous Diego or Crabby Ninja. You get the idea. These guys make solid bases and then fill them up with funky, non-traditional, and quite delicious ingredients. Prices range from $14-18, and they even deliver!

ALT Pizza is located at Suntec City Tower 4, #01-602, Singapore 038983. Tel: +65 6836 9207

Extra Virgin

Extra Virgin

Extra Virgin is not just about the slick and sexy branding, these CBD pizzas tick all the boxes; they're pretty cheap (starting at $16!), delicious... and actually quite healthy as far as pizzas go! Crafting Neapolitan-style pizzas handmade to order, you can expect a playful collection of modern variations on classics, such as the Pistachio Pesto pizza.

Extra Virgin is located at Tower 1, 8 Marina View, #01-04, Singapore 018960. Tel: +65 6247 5757

Peperoni Pizzeria

Peperoni Pizzeria

An XXL pizza ($50) which looks like it's big enough to feed the whole restaurant (okay maybe not quite, but it looks like the size of 4 pizzas)? The beauty of the thin crispy crust which gives precedent to the toppings, is that you have a pretty decent chance of being able to finish it off with your eating army still intact.

Peperoni Pizzeria is located at 6 Greenwood Avenue, Hillcrest Park, Singapore 289195. Tel: +65 6465 6556

Feel like we missed out somewhere? Let us know. However, any suggestions of Pizza Hut, California Pizza or Domino's will not be taken seriously...unless we are incredibly drunk or hungover.
