Alternative ice-cream treats to try

Lucky (or unlucky) for us, Singapore enjoys warm and humid weather all year round so it’s never ever too cold for ice-cream. Forget plain vanilla and chocolate scoop — check out these uber-cool creations.

Beer Popsicles
Harry’s Bar takes the term “ice-cold beer” literally with their new Beer Popsicles ($4.50). Crafted with their signature Harry’s Premium Lager, there are three flavours to choose from — Pure Harry’s Premium Lager, as well as tropical blends, Mango Harry’s Premium Lager with Strawberry and Lychee Harry’s Premium Lager with Raspberry. Super fruity and refreshing, these are a perfect pick-me-up on a hot day. Plus, it’s the easiest way to sneak in a beer while still in the office. (If anyone asks, the suggestion didn’t come from us.)

Harry’s Beer Popsicles are exclusively available at Harry’s Cuppage Terrace, till 4 January 2015.

Ice-cream houses

You can now buy a house for just $85… at Häagen-Dazs. The Häagen-Dazs’ Chalet is filled with their limited edition Vanilla & Florentine ice-cream with a sponge cake base, and decorated with whipped cream and chocolate pieces. We’re torn between wanting to eat it and wanting to live in it. Also, look out for their Bailey’s ice cream ($14.50), back by popular demand. It tastes amazing as an affogato with a shot of espresso over it (we recommend a hazelnut-flavoured espresso!).

The Häagen-Dazs’ Chalet is available at all Häagen-Dazs outlets, till 31 December 2015. Bailey’s ice cream is available at all Häagen-Dazs outlets and leading supermarkets, while stocks last.

Donut Sundaes

If you think you couldn’t love ice-cream more, try Krispy Kreme’s Kool Kreme creation ($6.90). This super indulgent treat starts with their original glazed donut, topped with a scoop of chocolate or vanilla bean gelato and sprinkled with crushed Oreos, peanuts, walnuts and a drizzle of chocolate to finish. It’s so ingenious we wish we thought of it first.

Chill with your donut-ice cream fusion at Krispy Kreme’s new store at Great World City or go to www.krispykreme.sg for other locations.
