A cat has stolen over 60 pieces of men's underwear.

A six-year-old feline named Brigit cannot keep her paws off of male under garments and has pocketed 11 pairs of pants and 50 pairs of socks in two months, whilst prowling around the streets at night time near her home in Hamilton East, New Zealand.

Brigit's owner, Sarah Nathan, took to Instagram on Friday (18.03.16) to broadcast her thieving pet's discoveries. She said: "Now it's getting silly. This is Brigit's haul from the last two months. Every morning we wake up to more. I've put notes in every letterbox in the street. Someone must be missing this stuff. Please share if you know someone who lives in the George St area (sic)."

Sarah has collated the items and is inviting all of Brigit's conquests to come forward for them to recover their missing items.

Speaking to NZ Herald newspaper, Sarah said:

"Now she's decided menswear is the thing - and it's a very specific kind of underpants that she likes. It's an absolute obsession. A night does not go by without her bringing things home. I got up this morning and there were another four socks in the house."

Thankfully, Brigit has an eye for specific types of underwear and freshly washed garments.

She said: "It's really, really weird. She's got really specific taste.

"They feel as if they've come off the washing line - they've got that crispy feeling."
