Britain celebrates National Lager Day

Britain is celebrating its first ever National Lager Day today (10.12.15).

And the nation is celebrating in style as according to nightlife app Crowdit, Brits are producing and drinking more of the amber nectar than ever before.

Britain consumes more than 3 billion litres of lager a year which is 75 per cent of the beer market.

World-renowned lager expert Mark Dredge said: "This is the best time to drink British lager. So many new breweries are now making great-tasting lagers which can rival the best of the European greats.

"There's also so much variety in British lagers, way more than most people realise, whether it's classic German-style lagers or ones brewed to be rich and dark or vibrant and hoppy. Lager is now way more than just a boring pint of cold, fizzy, yellow beer and it's a great time to find a new favourite."

To celebrate National Lager Day Crowdit is giving away 1,000 pints of lager today.
