Eight out of ten people in London don't chat to neighbours

Get Living London have found eight out of ten people living in London's East Village rarely communicate with their neighbours.

According to the study 85 per cent of Brits admitted to not knowing all their closest neighbours' names and the main reason for not talking to each other is because they never see them and are worried they'll be seen as intruding or nosy.

Neil Young, CEO of Get Living London, which owns and manages the private rented homes at East Village, wants to promote free events to bring people together.

He said: "We weren't surprised that 40% of Brits never even see their neighbours, so one way we work hard to make East Village one of London's friendliest neighbourhoods is through bringing people together at free events."
