Lost bird gets helicopter ride home

A lost owl was given a lift back to its home in Clackmannanshire, Scotland after it flew 100 miles to an oil rig in the North Sea.


A lost owl was given a lift home in a helicopter.

The bird had flown over 100 miles from its home in Clackmannanshire, Scotland to an oil rig in the North Sea, Sky News reports.

SSPCA centre manager Colin Seddon said: "The owl is doing great after his lengthy flight. He is waiting for a vet check before going out to our aviary and, providing all is well, he will be released within the next few weeks depending on weather conditions."
