Man gets jail term for bank-robbing blunder

A man has been jailed after brandishing a knife and ordering bank employees to put money into his account.

Paul Neaverson has been sent down for two years after he told a Natwest cashier to "put £500 in my account" before threatening them with the weapon, the Daily Mirror newspaper reports.

During the incident, the frightened employee pressed the bank's alarm button and the man fled.

Maidstone Crown Court also heard how the man attempted to rob another bank less than a mile away.
