Pilot lands plane to save dog

A pilot diverted a flight to save the life of a French Bulldog.

The Air Canada captain landed the jet in Germany after the heating system in the plane's hold broke down, which would have plunged the canine's travel capsule into below freezing temperatures.

Simba was traveling in a crate below deck from Tel Aviv to Toronto and was due to cross the Atlantic when the pilot spotted the technical glitch.

Instead of continuing on, the compassionate pilot landed in Frankfurt and passengers had to wait 75 minutes while Simba was transferred to another aircraft.
