Two young girls were ordered to produce a permit for selling homemade lemonade outside where they live.
A video has emerged of police officers ordering the girls to produce a permit as they sold the beverage outside their property in Overton, Texas.
The Overton Police Department officer asked: "You get a permit with the city to serve this?"
Looking bemused, one of the girls replied: "I didn't know I had to. I had no clue, I thought a little lemonade stand would be OK."
But the second officer insisted: "We just have to enforce [the law], we don't write them."
