Prisoners charged for making music video

A pair of violent jail mates have been charged for making a rap video on a banned mobile phone.

The video was allegedly filmed in Birmingham Prison and in it, one of the budding rappers - Demehl Thomas - boasted about wanting to stab his rivals.

The friends have been charged with the offence of making a sound recording in HMP Birmingham in what is thought to be the first crime of its kind.

The footage was uploaded to the internet and the duo are hoping to promote an album that has now been released on iTunes.
