A Thai celebrity’s rant about the unruly behaviour of Chinese tourists at a South Korean airport has gone viral.
A video, which was filmed by Duangjai Phichitamphon at Jeju International Airport, shows her complaining about Chinese tourists not following the queue at the airport's tax refund counter.
The two-minute clip, which was posted on Phichitamphon’s Facebook page last week, has since gone viral. It was also subtitled in English and Chinese and re-posted on several sites.
In the video, Phichitamphon could be seen being shoved as a throng of Chinese tourist scrambled to get to the front of the counter.
Phichitamphon said passengers had been queueing in an orderly manner before the Chinese group turned up, adding that many had stomped on her feet and even pulled her hair.
“Are they afraid they will miss their flight?” she said in a heated tone as her male companion tried to calm her down.
This is the latest of a series of unsavoury behaviour of Chinese tourists overseas.
Just last week, Chinese tourists were photographed washing their feet and footwear in public sinks in Phi Phi island despite signs prohibiting it in the toilet.
And in February, the famous White Temple in Chiang Rai announced that it had built separate toilets for non-Chinese visitors and Thais after complaints that Chinese tourists had ruined lavatories.
