The sun helps weight loss

Forget star gazing, health fanatics in Hong Kong have taken up staring into the sun as a substitute for eating because they believe they'll absorb extra energy and be less hungry.

Women are staring into the sun to lose weight.

An extreme health craze has hit Hong Kong where participants who think they are fat are looking into the sun because they think they will absorb solar energy and need less calories from food.

A dieter told Coconuts Hong Kong: "We practice sun-gazing as a substitute for eating."

The women have been spotted staring directly at the bright sun before sunset on a beach in Sam Ka Village.

She added: "Some of us who have finished the therapy now eat less, and others don't have to eat at all."
