“Praying” pig becomes Internet hit

A runaway pig became an Internet sensation after it was photographed “praying” at a temple in the Zhejiang province of China.

The pig reportedly knelt on its forelimbs for hours on Sunday (Feb 22) outside the temple as a ceremony took place, and only stood up and moved on after a monk chanted a scripture towards it.

While onlookers speculated that the hog was on a pilgrimage for a Chinese New Year’s blessing, a police officer had a simple explanation for its bizarre posture: it was suffering from vitamin E deficiency and as a result could not stand on all fours.

Unknown to the owner of the pig that it had become an Internet star, he slaughtered the fugitive animal upon its recapture.

Perhaps the pig knew its end was near and was praying for some divine intervention?

Kim Jung-un’s new haircut raises, erm, eyebrows

If you thought North Korean leader Kim Jung-un’s coiffure was bad, wait till you see his new do (pictured left).

The 32-year-old leader showcased his poofy new haircut and some oddly pruned brows at a politburo meeting last week.

Gone are the “curtains” and in its place a gravity-defying do, which looks like it came off  the set of a sci fi movie  (maybe that’s where he got inspiration for this cut?).

While we doubt this drastic hairstyle would look flattering on most men, we’re pretty sure it will be a hit in North Korea.

Man trashes salon after bad haircut

A US man was arrested after flying into a rage and trashing a Connecticut salon because he was unhappy with his new haircut. And here’s the kicker, he had to pay US$50 for the cut.

Furious, 47-year-old Alan Becker reportedly kicked a hole in the wall of the salon and was rude to staff and customers. He also tossed several items around before leaving.

Becker was later arrested on charges of breach of peace and criminal mischief.

Wonder what he’d do if he got Kim Jung Un’s do.

Russian man wakes up to find testicles removed

A Russian actor who was drugged woke up to find his testicles removed.

Dmitry Nikolaev was approached by a young blonde woman at a bar and she invited him to a sauna. There, they had more beer and he blacked out, he said.

The married actor woke up the next day at a bus stop with a sore crotch and blood on his pants. When he went to the hospital, he was told that his testicles had been “skillfully” removed.

Police believe Nikolaev had been targeted by a gang selling human organs in the black market and that his drink had been spiked.

This neon sweet treat makes Ben and Jerry’s look vanilla.

Called Neon Nitro, the ice cream comes in three flavours - raspberry, pine-lime and mango passion fruit and is free of dairy and preservatives.

Made with luminescent with UV-reactive food colouring and frozen using of liquid nitrogen, the ice cream is inspired by co-owner Steve Felice’s raver past.

"I used to be a dance party child in the 1990s and early 2000s and I used to make party clothes out of neon material," he told the Daily Mail.
