Woman buys dress online that reveals more than she bargained for

A disgruntled shopper was so unsatisfied with a gown she purchased on Chinese e-commerce site Taobao that she posted photos of herself in it on the seller’s page.

Normally, we wouldn’t have an issue with that but not when this is the result. Argh, our eyes!

The gown is a copy of the one worn by Thor actress Jaime Alexander at the movie’s premiere in 2013. Featuring full length sheer panels on the front and back, the sexy dress, when stretched across the woman’s less-than-flattering figure, revealed a lot more than she (and we) bargained for.

We’ll never look at Jaime Alexander or the dress the same way again.

Alligator takes over golf course

Floridians sure love their golf. Despite a dinosaur-looking alligator lurking in the greens, a women’s golf tournament continued as planned at the Myakka Pines Golf Club in Englewood, Florida, last weekend.

Photos of the four-metre long reptile laying down on the grass just metres from a hole went viral on social media and not surprisingly, many thought they were doctored.

Apparently alligator sightings are quite common at Myakka Pines and the club is super psyched by its latest reptilian guest.

"Myakka Pines will be on every single local news station tonight, and we've been contacted by CNN, ESPN, GolfChannel, NY Times, Washington Post, WINK News, Turner Broadcasting...and on and on and on! Value of the internet!!! We could not pay for this kind of exposure. I am sooooo excited!!" said the club on its Facebook page.

Trash collector jailed for starting work too early

A garbage man in Atlanta has been slapped with a 30-day jail sentence for starting work too early.

Apparently it is a “crime” to collect trash between the hours of 7pm to 7am in the wealthy suburb of Sandy Springs so as not to disrupt the sleep of residents. But Kevin McGill, who had only been on the job for three months, was not aware and began work at 5am one morning.

And he is not the first. Another sanitation worker also faced time for the same violation last year.

“Fines don’t seem to work,” said the prosecutor. “The only thing that seems to stop the activity is actually going to jail.”

Woman accidentally burns cash stashed in stove

A woman who had hid 100,000 yuan (S$22,000) cash in her cooking stove saw her money literally go up in smoke after accidentally setting it alight.

The woman from China’s Hunan province put the money, which was meant for her husband’s workers, in a plastic bag in the wood-burning stove thinking it was a safe place for the stash. However, the next morning, she threw a lighted match into the stove while boiling water.

She only realised her mistake when she went to add wood and saw the bag of bank notes almost reduced to ashes. The distraught woman brought the charred remains to the bank but could not exchange them for new notes as more than half of each note was damaged.

Flight attendant breaks into dance before take-off

Who needs in-flight entertainment when you have “live” entertainment on the plane?

A WestJet flight attendant decided to entertain passengers before take-off by dancing to Bruno Mars’ hit “Uptown Funk” as it played over the intercom. Footage of her busting some funky moves was uploaded on YouTube.

And passengers clearly enjoyed it as they cheered and clapped at the end of her routine. Watch it here.

Driver “stops bus to Instagram daffodils”

This bus driver and his employer would never hear the end of it if he pulled this stunt in Singapore.

A London bus driver was so enamored with flowers that he stopped his vehicle mid journey to snap photos of them.

A passenger tweeted an image of the driver squatting by some flowers and taking a photo with his mobile phone. Along with the photo was the caption: “The driver of my bus has gone off to Instagram some daffodils. I’m all for the beauty of springtime but SERIOUSLY.”

The post sparked a flood of reaction, mostly positive, on Twitter, though some netizens expressed concern about the passengers on the bus.

"Personally I applaud it, but then I'm not the one stuck on a bus trying to get somewhere," tweeted Claire T Bear.

Buy house, get free wife!

This is no hoax. Indonesian homeowner Wina Lia, who put up an online ad to sell her 523 square-metre bungalow in Yogyakarta, has thrown in an unusual freebie - her hand in marriage.

“Buy a house and marry the owner [terms and conditions apply]. For serious prospective buyers only. No negotiations,” said the ad.

The offer was the idea of her property agent and Lia went along with it as she was “looking for a husband anyway”.

Man cooks dinner at HK airport while waiting for flight

A Chinese man busted out his electric rice cooker and started cooking dinner in Hong Kong International Airport last Sunday (Mar 9) while waiting for his flight. Photos of Wu Jia Yong squatting beside a rice cooker plugged into a wall socket went viral.

According to Hong Kong media, Wu had arrived from Singapore that morning and was scheduled to take a noon connecting flight to Jinan, Shandong, but overslept and missed it.

Hungry and with little money left after paying for his flight out the next day, he had no choice but to cook his own dinner.
