Woman goes back to surfing the net after giving birth in internet cafe

Just when we thought we'd seen the worst of people's internet addiction, we had to hear this story. Workers at an internet cafe in Jiangxi province, China, were surprised to find a woman cradling a newborn baby, with its umbilical cord still attached, inside the stall of their restrooms. They quickly called an ambulance, but the 24-year-old mother simply returned to her computer to resume her online activities. Southcn.com reported that she and the baby are now recovering in the hospital.

Woman in Japan receives a dozen double-yolked eggs

We can’t decide if this is incredible…or just creepy. Twitter user Umeboshi boiled a packet of eggs from her mother, only to find that every egg contained two yolks. So was this hen particularly productive or what? Another Twitter user, Mitsuko, pointed out that farmers usually remove double-yolked eggs while sorting them out. Apparently, this woman had inadvertently acquired a batch that had been set aside while the rest were being shipped out.

Woman arrested for serving family milk with dead skin from feet

Ew, ew, ew, ew, ew. A 56-year-old woman in Virginia was charged with second-degree assault for lacing her family’s milk with foot shavings. She reportedly served the drink to two female relatives, who immediately coughed up the mysterious, er, debris. The shavings were later found to have come from the woman’s personal stash of dead skin after a witness ran the milk through a strainer.

A statement from police said that the woman suffered from dry feet because of diabetes. According to local news outlet Somdnews.com, she kept trays full of the stuff in her bedroom.

Passenger who gave birth on Air Canada flight to Tokyo didn’t know she was pregnant

Talk about two surprises in one: Not only did Ada Guan, 23, give birth 36,000 feet above the Pacific Ocean, but she and her partner, Wesley Branch, did not even know she was expecting.

How is this possible, you ask? Guan had noticed that she was gaining weight, but a doctor’s visit and a pregnancy test a few weeks prior revealed nothing. Even her partner’s parents, who had seen her two weeks before the flight, could not that that she was with child.

Back to the plane. Guan was upgraded to first class after experiencing extreme abdominal pain, and with the help of a doctor aboard the flight, she gave birth to a baby girl named Chloe.

'I lifted up her pants and I saw a head and then I heard waahhhh,' her partner said to Globe Canada, admitting that he ‘passed out’ after realising that he was a father.

Doctor misplaces mobile phone inside patient’s belly while performing C-section

Oops: a Jordanian gynaecologist is accused of accidentally leaving his cell phone inside a patient’s abdomen during a C-section. The patient’s mother told the media that her daughter, 36, became immobilised after being discharged from the hospital. And then her abdomen begun vibrating. An X-ray and subsequent operation reportedly revealed the missing phone, but the Jordanian Health Ministry has called the story “baseless and fabricated”.

Japanese game show makes contestants blow bugs into each other’s mouths

Weird Japanese game shows are nothing new, this clip from AKBINGO! was nearly impossible to watch. The show, which stars Japanese girl group AKB48, made two women compete to see who could blow a cicada into each other’s mouths. As if the choking hazard weren’t scary enough, the girl on the right had to chomp down the bug on live television. (One can only hope that they used a rubber insect).

Prep school in hot water after dancing dead cats video goes viral

Well, this is disturbing. Oklahoma City’s elite Harding Carter Preparatory School is facing a ton of media backlash after a video of its students dancing with dead cats was posted on Facebook. The video shows anatomy students whirling around the dead cats, which were for a dissection, while music from a Meow Mix commercial plays in the background. The relatively synchronised choreography suggests that the stunt was pre-meditated and rehearsed, leading organisations like the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to condemn the students as “heartless”.

Customers in the U.S. can order Domino’s by tweeting the pizza emoji

Starting May 20, U.S. customers can now place an order at Domino’s by tweeting a pizza emoji to the company’s official account. While other companies have tested out “buy now” promotions on Twitter, Domino’s says that this will be a permanent feature from here on out. Now, if only this feature would come to Singapore (or if only McDonald’s would let us place orders with the French fries emoji, or KFC with the fried chicken emoji, or the bank with the money emoji…)
