Cross-dressing man draws curious stares on Shanghai subway

A cross-dressing man drew curious stares when he rode the Shanghai metro in a skin tight pink top and nude pantyhose, revealing his red thong and, erm, well-endowed package. To complete his look, he had on a string of pearls, frilly socks and sandals.

The middle-aged man was snapped casually reading his book, oblivious to the attention he was attracting, leading some netizens to speculate if this could be a publicity stunt. While his dressing is disturbing, we are more concerned with his lack of subway etiquette after he was spotted committing two no-nos - hogging the pole and manspreading.

Dead sperm whale found near Jurong Island

A dead sperm whale was found near Jurong Island on Friday morning (July 10). In a Facebook post on Friday, the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum said it was alerted to the sighting and that nine its staff were deployed to salvage the specimen. The 10 metre-long carcass was identified by curators as a sperm whale, though the cause of death is not clear. This is the first time that a sperm whale sighting has been recorded in Singapore, said the museum.

Otters suspected of feasting on koi in Sentosa Cove

These otters sure have expensive tastes! Wild otters are suspected to have feasted on ornamental koi costing tens of thousands of dollars in Sentosa Cove this year. Believed to have entered from the beach, the mammals helped themselves to the prized fish in a hotel pond, forcing the resort to relocate koi from its pond temporarily. A Sentosa Cove resident also reportedly lost about S$64,000 worth of the ornamental fish in April.

Women photoshop male nipples over their own to avoid censorship

Fed up with having their topless photos removed from social media, women are photoshopping male nipples over their own to make them “internet acceptable”.

The 'Photoshop the Nipple' idea was started by Californian artist Micol Hebron last year when she shared a photo of a male nipple template on Facebook, explaining: “If you are going to post a picture of topless women, please use this acceptable nipple template to cover over the unacceptable female nipples.” A year later, the movement has gone viral with women all over the world putting their photoshop skills to use to protest the sexist policies on Facebook and Instagram.

Man drugs girlfriend to play video games

Just when we thought we'd seen the worst of people's gaming addiction, we had to hear this story. A German man drugged his girlfriend so she would fall asleep and leave him alone to play his Xbox. The 23-year-old man put a sedative in her tea one evening and it knocked her out until noon the following day. She also kept nodding off through the day. The guy was fined 500 euro (about S$750) and unsurprisingly, the two are no longer together.
