KFC introduces disturbing pink-coloured burger

Looks like the trend of coloured burgers isn’t dying anytime soon. The latest to jump on the bandwagon is KFC China with its disturbing pink-coloured Rose Cheese Roasted Chicken Burger. Yes, we don’t know what possessed the Colonel to give the green light to these rose-flavoured buns which look like they had been coated with a thin layer of strawberry Pocky icing. The fast food chain’s other new item is the Black Diamond Bacon Spicy Chicken Burger. While it still too early to tell, judging by comments and photos of the actual burger (which looks, erm, less than rosy) on social media, it will only appeal to little girls with princess dreams.

Man cuts off wife’s lover’s penis, flushes it down toilet

Japanese police have arrested a 24-year-old man after he allegedly cut off his wife’s lover’s penis and flushed it down the toilet. Local media reports said Ikki Kotsugai burst into the 42-year-old lawyer’s Tokyo office, where his wife also works, at around 7.40pm on Thursday (Aug 13) and began punching him repeatedly until he was nearly unconscious. He then pulled off the man’s pants and severed his “lower body part“ with shears. Ikki, a former boxer in university, reportedly told police that he flushed the man’s genitals in a toilet in the law office. Though the lawyer reportedly lost a lot of blood, his injuries were not life threatening.

Nutty professor grows ear on his arm

Oh man, body parts are popping up in all sorts of places. Though artist and professor at Australia’s Curtin University Stelarc has two good ears, he grew a third on his left arm all in the name of art. Stelarc came up with the idea in 1996, but it took another decade to convince a team of medical experts to make it a reality. And now he intends to connect it to the Internet so people can hear and track, through a GPS, his movements. To do that, a miniature microphone will have to be inserted into the organ. All we can say is, this guy sure has some bizarre ideas up his sleeves.

Woman loses it when she gets dumped via text message

What is it with women throwing epic tantrums in Hong Kong? A month ago, a woman lost it on the subway when her mobile phone battery died, and this week, another goes berserk on the crowded streets of Hong Kong when her long-time boyfriend in Guangdong dumps her via text message.

According to media reports, the Chinese woman was holidaying in the city when she received the break-up text via WeChat. For reasons we can't fathom, she took her misery outside and was caught on film rolling around on the ground, arm and legs in the air, as she wailed: "26 years! My heart is here but my soul is at home! My lover is at home", and "I don't want to live anymore!"

Passers-by offered help and some even tried to drag her away but to no avail. "Someone beat me to death please! I've known him for 26 years! Do you guys understand?! You guys are useless! USELESS!" she yelled. Peace was only restored when the police arrived and strapped her down on a stretcher before taking her away.

Man has meltdown after daughter accepts boyfriend’s proposal

Also having a public meltdown was this man who was dead against his daughter marrying a Japanese. Photos of the father having an “emotional breakdown” at a jewellery store in Shanghai where the couple's public proposal took place, have gone viral on social media.

According to media reports, the woman’s parents rushed to the store after they heard the news and the father collapsed on the ground, asking store assistants: “Why would you sell rings to the Japanese?” The couple reportedly met in Japan where the woman was studying, and her boyfriend travelled to Shanghai to pop the question. What happened to asking for your prospective father-in-law for his daughter’s hand in marriage first?

Car melts in Italy heatwave

We’ve seen roads melt, now cars too are melting in Italy. A tourist, who was holidaying in the coastal town of Caorle, was shocked to see a vehicle melting in the sizzling 37 C heat and decided to capture it on camera. The video showed the lights, mirrors and even bumper melting off the Renault Megane parked near the beach. Tourists have been warned of a killer heatwave across Europe and record temperatures in Italy have left 140 pensioners dead in just the first ten days of July, according to data from the environmental agency there.

Taiwan‘s leaning mailboxes become tourist attraction

Taiwan unexpectedly got itself a new tourist attraction during the super typhoon last weekend. Hundreds have queued to have their photos taken with ‘Little Green’ and ‘Little Red’, which now lean to one side after a sign fell on them during the storm. The postboxes on Longjiang Road even went viral on social media after tourists began posting photos online. Taiwan’s postal service, Chunghwa Post, said the boxes will be left as they are, adding that signs will be put up beside them to mark the typhoon.

Shoplifter hides stolen steaks in colostomy bag

A man was so hungry for some steaks that he shoplifted them at a South Carolina supermarket on Tuesday (Aug 11) and stashed them in his colostomy bag. Employees at the supermarket reportedly saw 55-year-old David Hoyt attempting to make a quick getaway in his car after placing five bags of ribeye steaks worth US$75 into a bag. They took down his car license plate number and police tracked Hoyt down at his home. Initially, Hoyt denied lifting the meat but eventually confessed to the heist, saying he hid them in his colostomy bag. Ugh, excuse me while I go cancel my dinner appointment at the steakhouse.

Dog owner bites teen’s ear for kicking pet

A woman in Harbin turned all Mike Tyson on a 17-year-old girl and nearly bit off her ear when she saw the teen kicking her dog. The teen, Zhou Shuang, was walking home last Wednesday (Aug 5) when the poodle suddenly ran towards her barking. Terrified, she kicked the pup as it charged towards her. The dog’s owner, who was nearby, flew into a rage and bit off the girl’s left ear, before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, doctors were able to reattach Zhou Shuang’s ear though some bits had reportedly turned black.
