Woman sets cheating boyfriend’s crotch on fire

A woman so overwhelmed with burning hatred for her boyfriend when she found out that he had cheated on her with her co-worker that she taught him a lesson he will never forget. In a viral video on YouTube, the woman can be seen sneaking up on her boyfriend while he was sleeping and setting his underwear on fire.

First, she pours nail polish remover over the crotch area and sets it ablaze using a lighter. It burns for a few seconds before he springs awake, alarmed by his burning crotch. “You cheating on me with my f***ing co-worker, you didn't think I was gonna find out?” she is heard yelling as he quickly extinguishes the flame, while moaning and stumbling off the bed. Sure, those few seconds must have been hell for the man but he should be thankful his man parts are still intact.

Egg waffles making a splash in US … and we do not like what they have done to it

We are all for creativity and thinking out of the box but this latest food mashup that is taking the US by storm is rather unsettling. New ice cream parlour Cauldron in California, has taken our favourite Hong Kong street snack, gan dan zai, or egg waffle, and turned it into a huge cone for their homemade ice creams. Described as a “soft warm bubble with cold creamy ice cream inside”, the puffle cone which was first introduced in July is so popular that it recently sold out. Not sure about you but us gan dan zai purists feel the sweet treats, which are crispy on the edges and chewy in the centres, are best eaten hot off the pan with no frills. Period.

BreadTalk denies claims of improper food handling in Shenzhen

If you think what BreadTalk did in Singapore is bad, wait till you read what they have been accused of doing in outlets in Shenzhen. A reporter, who went undercover and worked in BreadTalk’s outlet in the Nanshan district, claimed that the Singapore bakery chain had reused cooking oil to fry doughnuts, “with some of the oil said to be in the system for months”.

The claims were made in an episode of Shenzhen Fazhi Shikong, a local TV programme in Shenzhen, which aired on Aug 12. Other allegations include replacing the ‘best before’ date labels of expired bread spreads so they can be sold instead of tossing it.

In a statement on Tuesday (Aug 18), BreadTalk denied the allegations, saying an investigation has been carried out and that officials from the China Shenzhen Quality Supervision Bureau have confirmed that food-handling practices at the franchise outlet are safe and compliant with all regulations. It added that "used oil is discarded each time frying oil is replaced, and the replacement of frying oil has always been conducted within the validity period".

Tourist takes bath in Venice canal

A tourist has caused an uproar in Italy after he was caught on camera taking a bath in one of Venice’s canals. Footage, which was posted on Facebook, shows the man scrubbing his armpits and back and splashing around in the water. He is not wearing a shirt and trousers, though it is not clear whether he is nude. This is the latest in a string of tourist-related incidents that have angered locals. Apart from vandalism and nudity, visitors have also been spotted peeing in a canal and diving from the Constitution Bridge.

Teen causes short circuit after urinating in lift

Here’s another reason why you should NEVER pee in the lift, or any public place for that matter. Instead of peeing in his home, a teen decided to relieve himself in the lift of his apartment building in Hunan and caused it to short circuit. His uncivilised actions caused the lift to be shut down for two days.

CCTV footage showed the boy entered the elevator on the 15th floor and sprayed away at the first few rows of buttons. An employee from the management office said the teen was lucky he did not get an electric shock.

Kid poops in plane cabin because toilet is “too small”

Also causing a stink was this kid who did his number two in the plane cabin because the toilet is “too small”. Yup, that’s what his mum said. Though two lavatories were vacant, the child, with the assistance of his mother and another relative, defecated at the back of the cabin before the Shenzhen Airlines flight took off from Nanjing on Sunday (Aug 16). When asked why she didn’t use the bathroom, the mother replied: “Your bathrooms are too small, the three of us can’t get in. It’s so spacious out here!”

A witness noted that not only did the mother not apologise for the mess, she acted like it was totally normal for the kid to do his business there and even had the nerve to tell him to “take his time”.

China wax museum becomes internet sensation for hideous statues

The Huaying Mountain Wax Museum in Sichuan, China, is making waves online not because of its large collection of figures (107 to be exact) but because they are simply too hideous for words. Yes, so awful that celebrities like Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi have demanded that her model be removed.

Sculpted by a leading Chinese wax work artist, the figures have been slammed and mocked by netizens and visitors for being unrecognisable and ugly. Ziyi’s replica has been described as “someone from the Qing Dynasty”, while Hong Kong actor Stephen Chow’s (pictured) is said to have “beggar hair”. Oh, in case you are wondering, those three ladies in the picture are actresses Maggie Cheung, Ziyi and Gong Li.

Man arrested for illegal selfie

This student from Tennessee went to ridiculous lengths to get a selfie and got arrested for it. And he rightfully deserved it, we say!

David Karnauch was arrested for reckless endangerment for climbing the Brooklyn Bridge in New York for a selfie in July and is being held as a fugitive from New York. In the photo which was posted on his Instagram account, David is seen standing precariously on a metal beam above traffic. The 21-year-old told local media how easy it was to get on the bridge, saying “you could just get on a beam and it actually had handrails on the left and right side”, though he would not recommend anyone else do it because “because I know they take security on bridges seriously”. You don’t say.
