Commuters left stranded after SBS bus driver loses way

SBS Transit has said that it will take appropriate action against the bus driver who left at least 15 commuters stranded after losing his way. In a video posted on Facebook on Sunday (Nov 22) by passenger Kelvin Lim, the driver could be seen calling for help on his mobile phone. Though commuters tried giving directions, the driver, who was speaking in Mandarin, had stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road and was unsure if he should go straight or turn left at the junction.

On Thursday, Kelvin posted another video on Facebook saying that the driver insisted on going the wrong way and many commuters had to walk back to the correct bus stop as a result. Some passengers were even heard giving the driver a piece of their mind before alighting.

Typo-ridden Malaysia Parliament dinner menu goes viral

This is one sharp salad we have no interest in partaking. A photo of a printed menu from a dinner function for Malaysia parliament officers on Monday (Nov 23) has gone viral, thanks to a hilarious mistake by the caterer. On the menu of the four-course dinner were “scissors salad”, “cream brule” as well as less exotic dishes like pumpkin soup, lamb chops and pasta. While the Speaker of the event Ronald Kiandee confirmed in a Facebook post that “there were no actual scissors in the salad, just a normal ‘Caesar salad’”, netizens could not resist poking fun at the boo boo. Wonder what Caesar would say when he sees the menu.

Desperate driver squeezes car into world’s tightest parking space

If you think the parking situation in Singapore is bad, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Parking space in China’s overcrowded cities is so scarce that drivers have to think out of the box to park their cars. Recently, a photo of a car squeezed into a narrow alley, with just five centimetres between the vehicle and the walls, at a residential complex in Harbin went viral - just looking at it makes us nervous. Unable to use her side mirrors, the brave driver, a 22-year-old woman surnamed Zhao, whom we must add had just gotten her license three months ago, had to rely on just her rearview mirror and the help of a man to reverse into the tight space. Zhao said she got out of her car through the sunroof and climbed through the boot to get back in the next day. Now who says women are bad drivers?

Man behind ‘Phuc Dat Bich’ name says it’s a hoax

Turns out Phuc Dat Bich isn’t this Australian man’s name after all. In a Facebook post signed Joe Carr, the 23-year-old man, who claimed that Facebook discriminated against him because of his vulgar-sounding moniker, said it was a hoax. “What started as a joke between friends, became a prank that made a fool out of the media and brought out the best in the people who reached out to me,” wrote the man on Wednesday. Glad we got that cleared. So the next question is, what’s his real name? Surely, no one is naïve enough to fall for Joe Carr, after all, Joe Carr = Joker, right?

Thai women arrested for drugging tourists with Xanax-laced boobs

Thai police have arrested two women for allegedly drugging two tourists with their Xanax-laced boobs and robbing them. Suchada Yoosuk, 33, and Pattanawan Sawangcheun, 30, who were also accused of spiking the men’s drinks, were arrested in Pattaya on Monday.

While the women confessed to putting the pills in the drinks, they denied applying Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug, on their breasts, though CCTV footage showed otherwise. Police added they were seen bringing the men to a hotel on two separate occasions and leaving the premises with the victims’ belongings. The victims, one from Iran and the other from Israel, have identified the suspects and both women have been charged with robbery and possession of a controlled substance.

Japan’s “handsome” gorilla to release DVD

Remember Shabani, the handsome gorilla that set Japanese women’s hearts aflutter and rocketed to fame earlier this year? Well it seems the hunky heartthrob’s popularity hasn’t waned. To satiate fans, Nagoya’s Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens, where 18-year-old Shabani resides, is releasing a DVD on Japan’s hottest primate for Christmas. Though there is little information on the DVD, we assume it consists of never-before-seen videos and photos of Shabani, including the above NSFW shot of his naked booty.

Titled Shabani, the Gorilla Who’s Just Too Hot, the DVD is produced by the zoo and will be on sale at selected convenience stores from December 22. And that’s not all, Shabani has also reportedly landed his first endorsement deal, becoming the face of Adobe’s image editing software as part of a Year of the Monkey campaign. Swoon…

Woman nearly sets house on fire with toaster life hack

The next time you read about a life hack, take it with a pinch of salt. A British woman nearly set her house on fire when she tried to make grilled cheese sandwich in a toaster on its side after seeing the life hack online. Bad idea. Suzanne Dale said her toaster soon began to smoke, before bursting into flames. She quickly tossed the toaster out the window into her garden and uploaded a photo of it on Facebook as a warning to others.

Forget rainbow brows, glitter beards are the new beauty trend

Another week, another beauty trend makes waves online. Some guys even took the festive cheer up a notch, blinging their eyebrows and hair for added sparkle. Those of you who are keen to rock the look can google for tutorials online, but we have to warn you, the trend can get very messy and clean-up will be a nightmare. Try at your own risk.
