HK netizens baffled by woman walking on leash

A video of a woman walking her dog and a leashed woman in Hong Kong has gone viral. The clip, which was reportedly shot on Tuesday afternoon (May 24), shows the leashed woman wearing gloves and knee pads, crawling on all fours towards a building. Though passers-by did double takes at the bizarre scene, no one approached the women during the 44-second video. The leashed woman also did not appear to show any resistance and was unfazed by the curious looks.

While many netizens found the scene rather disturbing, not to mention masochistic, some speculated that this could be a “performance art” or even a dare. A psychiatrist told HK01 that it is unlikely that the pair are mentally unstable as the leashed woman had protective gear on and was “prepared” for the stunt.

Tampines residents warned about impostor 'grassroots leader'

A man claiming to be a grassroots leader has been going around Tampines knocking on doors and asking to enter homes for an "inspection". The man, who looks to be in his thirties and has shoulder-length hair, told residents of Block 417 that he was sent by Tampines GRC's MP Baey Yam Keng and would ask if he could go into their houses to check on something, wrote Baey in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

According to residents, the suspicious man would ask strange questions and when asked for his identification or authorisation letter, he would say it was sent in the mail. Another homeowner also noted the man pushed her gate aggressively when denied entry. Baey has warned residents to be on the alert and said the Tampines Neighbourhood Police Centre is reviewing CCTV footage to identify the culprit.

Woman caught on camera napping in Singapore Zoo

A tourist visiting the Singapore Zoo turned into an exhibit after she was decided to lie down and get some shut-eye in front of an enclosure. According to online community website All Singapore Stuff on Monday (May 23), the woman took her power nap on the platform of the wolverine enclosure and visitors could not help but snigger when they saw the sleeping beauty, who was using her bag as her pillow, in deep slumber. An eye witness said that the woman’s daughter tried to get her to sit up but she laid down again after she walked away.

HK hospital claims baby fell after kicking open incubator

The father of a newborn, who is suffering a brain haemorrhage after falling to the floor in a Hong Kong hospital, has called for a police investigation into the accident after a nurse claimed the baby had kicked open the incubator herself and rolled out.

The man, surnamed Tsui, brought his 24-day-old daughter to Kwong Wah Hospital on April 26 for breathing problems and she was placed into an incubator for observation. Though a nurse, who was duty, confirmed the incubator was properly shut, the baby girl was found crying on the floor 15 minutes later, with one of the widows open. Tsui was told that his daughter might have kicked open a window and fallen out but he isn’t buying the absurd explanation because the infant is too weak to do so. Though the baby is in stable condition, an MRI scan five days after the incident showed she had a blood clot in her brain.

Drugged sheep go on rampage after eating cannabis plants

Stoned sheep have allegedly gone on a "psychotic rampage" after munching on cannabis that was dumped on the side of a country road in South Wales this week. A flock of drugged sheep have reportedly been wandering around dazed, creating havoc and even breaking into homes. Authorities have warned of the dangers if the rest of the flock discover the drugs, which are thought to be the remains of a cannabis factory: "I dread to think what will happen if they eat what could well be cannabis plants - we could have an outbreak out of psychotic sheep rampaging through the village.”

India is so hot, people are struggling to cross the road

And we thought the roads melting in India during last year’s heatwave was bad. India is so right now that residents are struggling to cross the roads. Video from NDTV showed people abandoning their foot wear after they get stuck and a woman even falls over when her shoes become glued on the melting road surface. Despite temperatures hitting a new record of 51C last week, the worst is far from over. Indian weather officials have warned of more frequent heat waves as the scorching temperatures cause an increase in dehydration and heatstroke cases.

Swarm of bees follows car for two days to rescue their queen

A woman in Wales was harassed by a swarm of bees on her car for two days after she accidentally picked up a passenger - their queen - during a visit to a nature reserve on Sunday. According to The Telegraph, Carol Howarth, 65, was shocked when she came out of a store to find the back of her car covered with more than 20,000 insects. A team of three beekeepers, a national park ranger and members of the public helped to capture and contain the swarm inside a cardboard box. Though they managed to rid the car of the bees, the persistent insects returned with a vengeance the next morning. Carol called the beekeepers for a second time and they finally removed the bees for good that evening.

Snake bites man’s penis while he sat on toilet

This is every man’s worst nightmare. A man’s morning toilet routine took a horrifying turn after a 3.5-metre python suddenly emerged from the toilet bowl and bit his penis. Atthaporn Boonmarkchuai said he tried to break free from the reptile when it attacked him in the bathroom in his home in Chachoengsao province on Wednesday. The 38-year-old said he fought with the snake for half an hour and with his wife’s help, he tied a rope around its head before collapsing. Atthaporn, who lost a lot of blood in the accident, was rushed to hospital for treatment and is now in stable condition. As for the snake, emergency workers had to take apart the toilet to free the reptile as it was still entwined in the plumbing. It was eventually released back into the wild.

Saudi man shoots doctor for delivering his baby

A Saudi man has been arrested after he shot a male doctor who helped deliver his wife’s baby last month. Turns out the man was angry that the hospital had allowed a male doctor to handle the delivery as he would have seen his wife naked. When he learnt that Muhannad Al Zabn would be assisting in the delivery, he demanded that the obstetrician be replaced by a female doctor, but his request was ignored by the hospital. After the birth, the jealous husband reportedly returned to the hospital in Riyadh and requested to see Dr Muhannad to “thank” him. After meeting in the hospital's garden, he reportedly pulled out a gun and shot the doctor. Dr Muhannad was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit and is in stable condition.
