Women yawn twice as much as men do.

Tests were first conducted on apes which found the female of the species are more susceptible to reacting to sleepy signals.

But scientists have now discovered that humans are afflicted with the condition too and ladies are twice as likely to catch a yawning bout because they empathise with other people's feelings more than men.

What's more, rates are higher between friends, relatives and acquaintances.
