It’s exhausting to be the one in-charge of all the wedding planning, and we don’t advise you to handle everything yourself. Although the groom may know nothing about dresses, flowers and decor, it is important for him to get involved. Here are three simple ways to get him a little more engaged (pun intended!) minus all the whining.

This is a great way to share the burden of planning two major events. If he’s not too keen on deciding which napkin goes with the colour of your centerpieces, then let him plan your romantic getaway from the flights to the accommodation and itinerary. It is also a good way to show that you trust him.

We’d be worried if your guy knows more about flowers, fabrics and colour palettes or bridesmaid dresses than you. Perhaps it would be better to assign him work that he will excel at, like selecting the music, ordering alcohol, booking the photo booth and transportation, preparing the speeches, and organising the after-party. Trust us, when you assign him a task he will want to do a good job of it (pride, ego and all that jazz).

Your wedding checklist might be the only thing on your mind right now, but don’t let your fiancé be in wedding planning mode 24/7. Instead of bombarding him with to-do-lists, assign dedicated wedding planning days to discuss everything; it could be once or twice a week. Respect his time and be consistent with the schedule.
