10 local celeb Instagrams that will motivate you to work out

We’ve all been there. You make a New Year’s resolution to drop 3kg so that you can fit into the skinny jeans you bought last year but in a blink of an eye, it’s already October and you have yet to lift a finger to get fit. Blame it on your crazy schedule, exhaustion, the haze, your extremely inviting couch… the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

So to give you that much needed fitspo, we’ve found ten local celebrity’s Instagram accounts to help motivate (or guilt-trip) you to lace up your sneakers and embark on that workout session you’ve been putting off. You’re welcome.

Desmond Tan does a variety of exercises, from mixed martial arts to swimming, to maintain that ab-static bod. And yes, dog walking counts as cardio too.

So this is Ah Boy Joshua Tan’s fitspo - he works out with celeb pals (hello Shane Pow and Maxi Lim!) and carries around a photo of his once pudgy self as motivation.

Pregnancy did not stop hot mama Joanne Peh from keeping active during her third trimester. It’s no surprise she bounced back in shape so quickly after giving birth.

If you follow actress Jaime Teo on Instagram, you're probably used to seeing her in variety of insane yoga poses. Though the owner of a cupcake empire only started exercising regularly in 2014, she has developed serious abs from working out to yoga and Zumba YouTube videos at home. Gives us hope that if we work out hard enough, we too can have our (cup)cake and eat it too! #bodygoals

One thing comes to mind while scrolling through Allan Wu’s Instagram - the mantra “work hard, play hard”. The presenter works out on the job, when he’s jet lagged and even when on vacation with his kids AND still manages to look like he’s enjoying it. We would too if someone could guarantee us that smoking bod.

Actor Xu Bin owes his fit body to weight training, kickboxing, and his celeb trainer and pal, Taiwanese actor Allen Chen (extreme right). After all, friends who work out together, stay together.

Don’t be fooled by her petite frame, Ase Wang is a beast in the gym. The Supermodelme judge regularly keeps us updated on her fitness regime and is a fan of interval training and Muay Thai. Almost makes us feel guilty for wolfing down that extra serving of dessert while looking through her Instagram feed last night.

This proves that even models need to keep fit. If only we had blue skies and sandy beaches at our doorstep too.

And how can we forget hunkle Zheng Geping, whose buff bod and abs of steel put guys half his age to shame. The gym rat spends hours working out and keeps to a strict diet of steamed meat and vegetables. In fact, the 51-year-old actor is so serious about keeping fit that he even released a book, Star Fitness. Now that's dedication!
