Sir Stamford lipbalm ($9.50) from SHOPHOUSE SIXTYFIVE

Our first thought? It seems wrong to rub a stick that bears a guy’s name on our lips. But since it’s the name of Singapore’s founder, we guess it’s okay, and um, quite patriotic. As a tribute to Raffles’ Brit roots, this lip balm is English breakfast tea-flavoured with hints of vanilla and caramel. Also check out other local-licious flavours such as Coffeeshop Kopi O (coffee-flavoured, of course) and Sentosa Island (cotton candy, for sweet childhood memories).

Available at shophousesixtyfive.com and other retailers.

Orchard home scent ($79) from POETREE

Master perfumer Martin Koh thinks Orchard Road smells like “fruity floral lily-of-the-valley with roses” and has accordingly come up with a home scent. Maybe he was thinking of those floral-sweet cosmetic counters in the malls, ’cos we think Orchard Road is filled with the aroma of people desperate for retail therapy. No matter, this floral bouquet is ready to make your home smell like blooms. Also check out the fresh Rainforest scent and citrusy Island Bouquet in Poetree’s Garden City Home Fragrance Collection.

Available at Poetree, #B1-13 Scotts Square, till end August, and at the HomesToLife pop-up store at 112 Katong.

Nice Kacang ($5.90 per scoop) from BEN & JERRY’S

An ice-cream inspired by ice kachang? We were expecting syrup-flavoured rainbow swirls. But there’s none of that, and not a red bean to be found either. Instead, Nice Kacang is packed with peanut butter ice-cream, chocolate nougats and fudge chunks, and topped off with sweet and salty pretzel swirls. As for the name? Merely metaphorical. The blend of ingredients mirrors our multi-faceted culture. Sadly, this doesn’t come in a pint — only in scoops ($5.90 per scoop).

Get from #01-25 313@Somerset and other Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops.

Little Red Love ($88) by ALEXANDRE FREILE

At the heart of this eau de parfum is our national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid, enhanced by tea and mint notes. Singapore-based French perfumer Freile created the scent based on his experience in Singapore, which he describes as having “a purity and an intensity no words can describe”.

Available exclusively at Sephora Ion Orchard from July 23.

Lau Pa Sat tea from THE 1872 CLIPPER TEA CO.

This intriguing blend (gula melaka with a green tea base) comes in a set with two other teas — Orchard Road (hibiscus flowers and raspberry leaves to symbolise fruit orchards) and High Street (a rich Ceylon black tea) — and a tea house infuser.
