What workout wear is best for you?

At the launch of Singapore's first-ever Reebok store on 3 Jun, Steve Thio was on hand to offer tips on how to dress for your shape and how the proper workout wear can help to enhance performance. He should know: The celeb stylist and avid gym bunny once sprained an arc while wearing the wrong shoes in the gym, and split his shorts during a workout because he wasn't wearing the right sort. Here, you can benefit from his experience - without the embarrassment.

"Don't wear crop tops. But bare more at the shoulders to balance things up."

2. If yoga pants are unflattering on you, or too tight and revealing:

"Wear shorts over tights."

3. If you do a lot of studio work and weightlifting:

"Wear apparel made of Cordura fabric (as with some of the pieces in Reebok's new collection) - the same material is used for bulletproof vests. It's hardy and won't rip against the weights."

"Wear a top with sleeves."

5. For those who do different workout activities in one session:

"Dress in layers so you can take on or off each piece depending on what activity you're doing. For example, you can wear a tank top over a yoga one with a sports jacket on top if you're moving between the gym and a yoga class in different locations."
