Instagram junkies: 6 #insta-worthy spots at Facebook you’ll love

Instagram lovers will have a field day at Facebook Singapore’s spanking new office — that is, if you work here or are just visiting. If it’s not worthy of an #OOTD backdrop, it’s definitely worth at least a few ‘likes’

Visitors can leave their mark on a physical Facebook wall, which will not be painted over when space runs out.

Every day feels like NYE when you’re at the confetti stairwell (left), which is actually an art installation by Dawn Ng, the local artist behind the colossal inflatable rabbit named Walter that has popped up around the island, including at the National Museum. She’s not the only local artist to have her work on display here. A black and red east-meets-west mural by Jeffrey Lee takes centrestage in one of the corridors, while lensman Aik Beng Chia’s uniquely Singapore IG snaps are on display at the Instagram Wall.

‘Defying gravity’ is arguably the most popular activity at Facebook Singapore’s two-month-old digs at South Beach Tower (next to Suntec) — well, among visitors, at least. Elevate your #OOTD shots in this kopitiam-themed anti-gravity photobooth with furnishings rotated 90 degrees so you can snap a pic, rotate it and look like you’re floating as you sip on your kopi gao. Kaya toast not included. This is the anti-gravity photobooth that Facebook and Instagram had originally set up at the athlete’s hangout area at this year’s SEA Games.

Visitors entering the office are greeted by one of the three micro-kitchens in Facebook Singapore’s four-and-a-half storey office. Think of it as a cooler, more hipsterrific 7-Eleven, except that everything’s free for employees and visitors. Each one is well-stocked with tidbits and drinks. No time for brekkie at home? Choose from an array of cereal, granola, nuts, milk, and juices here. Stressful day at work? Unwind with some wine or beer (two types on tap, no less). Hic, hic, hurray!

This Facebook mahjong set can actually be used. Other chillout spots peppered around the office are equipped with board games, foosball tables, and even a treadmill. Jealous yet?

There are no tidbits or drinks in these vending machines. Instead, they’re packed with office and tech supplies like USB cables, earphones, iPhone cases, laptop chargers, and keyboards. Just slink over and retrieve items — for free. And it’s hassle-free too. But don’t even think about nicking office supplies for everyone and their mother: employees need to tap their staff pass so what you take can be tracked.
