Police 'severed arm' report is false alarm

Police were called to reports of a "severed hand" on a motorway - but it turned out to be plastic.

Avon and Somerset Police were alerted to the cut up body part on Monday morning (11.09.17), and jokingly offered "a hand" to anyone in need after finding out it was a false alarm.

A tongue-in-cheek tweet on the constabulary's official page read: "Call to say severed hand on motorway. Then confirmed by Highways. Officers take a look - plastic hand! #AnyoneNeedAHand (sic)"
