Celebrity yogis who make yoga look easy (and hot)
The hottest fitness craze on Instagram has celebs twisting themselves in pretzels and attempting dangerous-looking headstands. Click on for those that made it look good – and those who didn’t.
The stage and TV actress, former Nominated MP to boot and Ashtanga yoga devotee is probably the most accomplished yogi of them all, going by the seriously complicated, pretzel-like (and dizzying) poses she flaunts on her Instagram feed. Headstands, the fire fly, toe tap… she nails them all, seemingly effortlessly. Bet you feel bad about ditching your yoga membership now.

Maybe it’s the juxtaposition of her graceful dancer’s pose silhouetted against the concrete urban jungle beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, or her sculpted bod, but this gorgeous shot is what we all picture when we attempt to snap yoga poses on Instagram.
Between the deep blue Maldivian sea in the background, her enviably lithe frame and chic yoga gear, we don’t know what to envy most about Sheila Sim’s life.
The supermodel is the ultimate yoga mum, if the regular posts of her practising on the mat with her kids is anything to go by.
Ahh, there’s something about doing yoga in the midst of Mother Nature that always gets us wishing we were anywhere but at our office desk pigging out on chicken rice. Never mind the impracticalities of all that dirt and the ubiquitious mozzies.
This brand-new mum shows that there’s no excuse for sporting a flabby belly (and not being able to do a perfect split) – not even having just given birth to your second kid. This is the face of immense self-discipline, folks.
Another actress who blows up our Instagram feed with photographic evidence of her hard work is Jaime Teo. The Twelve Cupcakes founder is so disciplined that she works out at home everyday with the help of YouTube videos. Guess having a feline gym mate helps.
Fitness and beauty social media influencer Alethia Toh executes an imperfect standing split while standing on a tree trunk – which just goes to show that you don’t need to be that good at yoga to look good doing it.
What is it with supermodels and their perfect yoga poses? The Aussie model is a vision of grace, beauty and perfect curves in this back-breaking looking backwards stretch. Do not try this at home.
Not the most flattering (or graceful) of poses for social media influencer Silver Ang, but that cool-looking deck and the cute (and curious) dog saves the day (and this picture).

We have it on good authority that the Not The 5 Show host is actually a real-life yogi – and a pretty limber one too. But we just aren’t seeing it here.
