More than 25 homegrown talents including Jasmine Sokko, Kit Chan, Kumar, and Dick Lee will perform in the inaugural Gardens by the Bay & Mediacorp National Day Concert.
You’ve seen the who’s who of Singapore's music scene lend their voices to this year’s National Day Parade theme song. Now, you can catch some of them perform ‘live’ at the inaugural Gardens by the Bay & Mediacorp National Day Concert.
Set to be held on August 10 and 11 at The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay, the two-day musical extravaganza will gather a star-studded line-up of more than 25 homegrown artistes ranging from rising newcomers to legends to toast our nation’s 54th birthday. Think Laneway Festival but all-Singaporean - and it’s free.
Headlining the first show are beloved icons like Kit Chan, Dick Lee, and Rahimah Rahim, who will be joined by alumni from Mediacorp’s music reality shows such as Jarrell Huang (SPOP Sing! 2018), Nandhitha Gurunath and Swathi Suresh (Vasantham Star), and Desmond Ng (GeTai Challenge). If classical music is more your thing, there will also be performances by the winners of Mediacorp’s Young Talents Project 2019, pianists Adrian Tang Zhi Feng, Toby Tan Kai Rong, and cellist Michelle Zhu Manzhen, who were crowned in the competition last Sunday (Jul 14).
On day 2, next-generation performers such as Jasmine Sokko, South Korea-based and Singapore-born singer Gen Neo, Aisyah Aziz, and Mandopop band AL4HA, will take centrestage, as well as stand-up comedian Kumar. Check the full line-up here.

Performances aside, there will also be a mini carnival leading up to the concert. Starting from 4pm, you get to enjoy family-friendly fringe activities such as a screening of Fried Rice Paradise, face-painting, a bouncing castle, and meet-and-greet sessions with the cast of shows like Fried Rice Paradise, KIN, and the upcoming series 128 Circle.
And what’s a festival without food? With food trucks and pop-up booths by cafe joints like Good Burgers, The Halal Food Truck, and Coffee Bandits, stationed around the carnival grounds, concertgoers can indulge in our nation’s favourite pastime while being serenaded, so be sure to bring the kids and pack a picnic mat for a day of live music, fun, and great grub.
Gardens by the Bay & Mediacorp National Day Concert takes place on August 10 and 11 (Saturday and Sunday) at The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay. Performances start at 6.30pm.
