Shahrizal Bin Salleh is a Singaporean chef and media personality with Indonesian heritage. He grew up in a household that bonded over food and remembers waking up to the delicious aromas of rendang, ayam balado and ikan lemak chilli padi, all lovingly prepared by his mum. It’s no surprise then that the 36-year-old cites his mother as his greatest cooking inspiration and treasures his memories of the numerous trips to the neighbourhood wet market which he took with her as a child. Today, he focuses on presenting Neo-Asian cuisine with a vested interest in understanding and reproducing traditional dishes and techniques. His goal for Eat List Star is to have a platform to educate and thoroughly entertain the masses through food.
