28cubed The Light Serum, $98 (for box of four vials)

Created by a team of food scientists, this Singapore brand takes inspiration from food science to offer a brightening serum that targets pigmentation from within to give you an even-toned and radiant complexion. The secret lies in its unique formula of three food-based molecules - Maltol, Sodium Saccharin and Theobromine often found in roasted coffee, caramel, chocolate and green tea, that help minimise melanin production at the cellular level.

Each set comes with four vials enough for a 28-day use. The serum is lightweight, absorbs well and smells nice too. You have to be patient with this as it takes about two weeks to start seeing results. Our complexion is clearer, more radiant and even-toned in just one month.

Legology Air-Lite Daily Lift for Legs, from US$49

Developed as an answer to her own concerns, former The Telegraph beauty editor Kate Shapland has been hailed as the woman who has found the cure for heavy and tired legs. This cream is said to not only provide instant relief but also promises to discourage the appearance of cellulite as it boosts circulation for smoother and more toned legs too.

When applied after a long day of walking and shopping, this cream soothes and relieves achiness, water retention and fatigue thanks to its cooling “Thermo-Lite”. But it’s just as good when used before heading out in the mornings as it also doubles up as a lightweight body lotion.

A new and improved range of moisturisers that contains the brand’s latest innovation, ReNeura Technology, it is able to optimise the communication between the skin’s sensory nerves and your brain to encourage skin’s self-repair process. Also includes a new KOMBU-Bounce Complex that uses three types of algae to make skin more resilient and resistant to the signs of photo-ageing, especially wrinkles.

Better suited for normal to slightly drier skins as the moisturisers, while lightweight, are still rich in texture. Alternatively, use this as a night-time moisturiser especially if you sleep in an air-conditioned room. Skin is smooth, supple and well-hydrated when you wake.

Milani Makeup, from $15.15

The cult beauty brand that has everyone from beauty YouTubers like Jeffree Star to celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Taraji P. Henson and Cardi B raving about is finally here in Singapore. It definitely lives up to its motto of creating beauty for women of all ethnicities, backgrounds and ages, as the complete collection consists of a wide colour spectrum of foundations and concealers, as well as blushers, eyeshadow palettes and lippies.

Best-sellers include the Baked Powder Blush (well-pigmented and applies like a dream to give perfectly flushed cheeks), Conceal + Perfect Foundation (well-loved amongst makeup enthusiasts, the buildable coverage allows you achieve the coverage you want without caking and feeling heavy, and it’s long-wearing too) and Bold Color Statement Matte Lipstick (highly pigmented — just one swipe is enough, and doesn’t leave the lips feeling dry or uncomfortable).

Innisfree Jeju Pomegranate Revitalizing Skincare Range, from $17

Innisfree Jeju Pomegranate Revitalizing Skincare Range, from $17

The revamped range now includes three new products - Revitalizing Foam Cleanser, Revitalizing Capsule Cream and Revitalizing Sleeping Pack, each enriched with Jeju pomegranates using its flesh, seeds and even peel. This antioxidant-rich range promises to strengthen and protect the skin against harmful environmental aggressors while brightening the skin for a youthful-looking glow.

Of the three new additions, the Revitalizing Sleeping Pack is our favourite. The gel mask absorbs well, leaves skin feeling refreshed and doesn’t leave a sticky feeling after. Though, the active ingredient capsule can make the mask application a little messy as you “crush” them while massaging the mask onto the skin. What we like is how our skin felt supple and was glowing in the morning.

Available at Innisfree boutiques.

Laneige Cream Skin Refiner, $38

A toner-cream hybrid that contains White Leaf Tea Water to strengthen skin’s natural barriers. Rich in amino-acids, this toner intensely moisturises dry and parched skins leaving them soft and supple once again. It also contains a hypo-allergenic formula and is free of PEG, animal-derived ingredients, artificial colouring or fragrance, ensuring that it’s gentle enough for even sensitive skins too.

Works best on drier skin types as its lotion-like texture is extremely moisturising, and can be a little rich for combination skin types. Will also work well if you’re travelling for a winter holiday. Best applied with gentle patting motions to help encourage absorption. We also like the fragrance-free formula that doesn’t irritate our senses.

Available from Laneige boutiques and counters, Sephora stores and Lazada.

Elizabeth Arden Prevage Progressive Renewal Treatment, $362 (box of four bottles)
Elizabeth Arden Prevage Progressive Renewal Treatment, $362 (box of four bottles)

Elizabeth Arden Prevage Progressive Renewal Treatment, $362 (box of four bottles)

A four-week overnight peeling treatment that combines Idebenone and Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) to gently slough off dead skin cells, refine skin texture and repair the skin at the same time. And because of its larger molecular size, it exfoliates and penetrates the skin at a slow and gradual rate, which causes less irritation.

Unlike other peeling treatments that can sting and burn the skin or cause redness, this is very gentle on the skin. Just after one night, our complexion feels softer and looks a little clearer. In two weeks, skin looks fresh and glowing - we’re even using less makeup too.

Available at Elizabeth Arden counters.

The Face Shop YEHWADAM Hwansaenggo Ultimate Rejuvenating Series, from $65

A new and improved version, this anti-ageing range is enriched with a Cheon-Hye-Myeong-Ui-Dan complex that consists of 12 traditional Korean herbs. Together with White Truffles and Deer Antlers, the line - Toner, Serum, Emulsion, Eye Cream and Face Cream - works to restore skin’s balance, vitality and youthfulness.

The powdery-floral scent can be a little strong, and the rich textures seem better suited for drier skin types or at least to be used at night if you sleep in an air-conditioned room. But it is very nourishing and gives skin a supple bounciness over time.

Available at The Face Shop boutiques.
