Mamonde Flower Toner Series

Love Mamonde’s iconic Rose Water Toner? There’s plenty where that came from. The Korean beauty and skincare brand’s Flower Toner Series includes five floral toners for five skincare needs: first up, the reformulated Rose Water Toner, which now comes with an even higher concentration of rose water, for soothing and moisturising. Then there’s the daily exfoliating Aqua Peel Toner, which comes with apricot enzymes and AHAs to remove dead skills cells, and Plum Blossom extract for hydrating aftercare. To reduce the appearance of your pores, you can try the Pore Clean Toner, which contains active ingredients from the Eoseongcho plant, a popular medicinal herb in Korea. Those with sensitive skin can try the Chamomile Pure Toner, while those who need a bit of firming can try the Flower Honey Toner, which is slightly more viscous than the others.

$25 for 250ml, available at the Mamonde Boutique and all Mamonde counters, as well as Lazada

The Body Shop Mediterranean Almond Milk & Oats Instant Soothing Mask

Calling all people with sensitive skin: The Body Shop’s new exfoliating mask was formulated just for you. Inspired by ancient Roman remedies, this wash-off product gently scours away dead skin cells while soothing any redness with its creamy, porridge-like formula. The downside? It smells so good you’ll want to eat it.

Urban Decay Lo-Fi Lip Mousse

We were a little skeptical about these lip pots until we discovered just how effective they are at helping us achieve a matte “just bitten” look. Simply stamp the product on your lips with your fingers, or apply it using the pop-out applicator. Colours are buildable, meaning you can easily go from “just kissed” to va-va-voom in a matter of seconds. Available in 8 colours, which range from bright fuschia to “my lips but better” brown.

Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder

A few swipes of this make the effects of an actual all-nighter look way less obvious. If you love Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray, then you’ll love the new powder compact, which gives your base makeup a polished “modern matte” look and can make any foundation waterproof. While the claim that it can last up to 11 hours doesn’t exactly hold up in Singapore’s humidity, its slim packaging makes it easy to tote around for touch-ups.

Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte Burnt Orange Collection

The Nineties-style brown lipstick trend is still going strong, and we’re going ga-ga over Shu Uemura’s flattering take. Not only were these burnished shades designed to flatter Asian skin tones, but they’re eminently wearable without being boring – and without making our teeth look yellow, as orangey lipsticks tend to do.

Supergoop! 100% Mineral Matte Screen SPF 40

Like most people, we often associate sun protection with greasy formulas and an unbecoming white cast. But Supergoop!’s new formula is so wearable, and so smoothing, that we hardly notice we’re wearing anything at all. As a bonus, it comes with a universal tint – useful for days when you can’t be bothered with foundation – and can also be used as a primer. Ingredients like Argan Oil moisturise the skin without making it feel, well, oily, while Butterfly Bush Extract acts as a shield against the blue light that’s emitted from electronic devices.

Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Flowers of Happiness

Well, it looks like we’ve found our new signature scent. Lancôme’s La Vie Est Belle Flowers of Happiness L’Eau De Parfum, whose name means “Life is beautiful” in French, actually does make us feel a little more lively than unusual. The new fragrance draws inspiration from four flowers, each representing a different emotion: peony for generosity, rose for excitement, jasmine for sincerity, and lily of the valley for joy, with hints of pear. A great daytime fragrance if you want to make a sweet impression.

La Vie Est Belle Flowers of Happiness is exclusively available at The Shilla Duty Free, Changi Airport. The fragrance is price at $82 for 30ml and $144 for 75ml.

Amos Professional The Green Tea Enhancing Shampoo and Intensive Moisture Pack

South Korea’s number one salon hair professional brand, Amos Professional (owned by K-beauty behemoth Amorepacific), is now available in Singapore, and boy, are we loving the Green Tea line. This line of products prevents hair loss by strengthening the hair right from the roots. Available in different formulas for normal-dry scalps, oily scalps, and sensitive scalps, the shampoos strip your scalp of follicle-clogging impurities without over-exfoliating. Our scalps certainly felt a lot less oily afterward. And unlike a traditional conditioner, the Green Tea Intensive Moisture Pack is suitable for both your scalp and hair – think of it as a mask that works for both. Either way, these products were effective at eliminating gunk and subsequent itchiness, which will hopefully help us grow a denser mane.

Amos Professional is exclusively retaining at salons

Kiehl’s Buttermask

Formulated with coconut oil and wild mango butter, this velvety lip mask keeps chapping at bay. It’s much thicker than the Butterstick, though not uncomfortably so, so we’d recommend using this one as an overnight treatment.

Shiseido VisionAiry Gel Lipstick

The Japanese beauty brand recently revamped its entire makeup line, replacing existing products with new ones organised by texture and composition: gels, inks, powders, and dews. The standout? Shisheido’s VisionAiry Gel Lipstick, a full coverage, semi-satin lipstick whose formula is 15 percent water – meaning it glides on like a dream. Available in 28 super-pigmented colours inspired by modern Tokyo (our favourite is the show-stopping Ginza Red).

beautyblender Power Pocket Puff

The humble powder puff has received a do-over thanks to beautyblender, whose teardrop-shaped beauty tool not only reaches tight crevices, but is suitable for applying highlighter, concealer, setting powder, and even foundation for light touch-ups. Wear it over your index finger like a mitt and tap away – the hot pink side is for setting and baking makeup, while the suede side works best for touch-ups and reblending.

Lu Ming Tang Crème De Marie

French beauty brand Lu Ming Tang, which draws inspiration and uses ingredients derived from Chinese tea, arrives in Singapore next month. We got a sneak preview of the line and were totally impressed by the Crème De Marie exfoliating masque, which uses antioxidant-rich Longjing Green Tea, as well as anti-free radicals-laden soy milk, hawthorn, and acerola red berries to re-energise the skin. After using it, our complexions looked smoother, brighter, and more youthful, without the usual tightness we get from clay masks.

$66, available at the Lu Ming Tang counter at Tangs beauty Hall from September

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil

The bestselling American skincare brand just launched in Sephora, and we’re already obsessed with the Luna Sleeping Night Oil, which uses trans-retinoic acid ester (retional) complex to stimulate cellular turnover and reduce the appearance of fine lines, while alleviating signs of premature aging: dullness, age spots, uneven texture, and the like. What sets this facial oil apart from the others is that it’s not only potent, but it’s fun to use. The product tints your skin blue when you first apply it (thanks to the soothing blue azulene), but fades to clear in a matter of seconds. Use it overnight and you’ll wake up with visibly luminous skin.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Energizing Foaming Cleanser

Neutrogena Deep Clean Energizing Foaming Cleanser

Neutrogena’s line of Deep Clean cleansers were recently reformulated to be glycerin-based rather than water-based; in other words, they’ll clean your skin without stripping away essential moisture. Out of the line of six cleansers, which include the classic Foaming Cleanser and an acne cleanser, we were most drawn to the Energizing cleanser, which contains “energising” microbeads to give the skin a boost of vitality. We love how easily this product lathers, as well as how soft our skin feels after using it.
