17 Star Awards gowns (and a tux) that deserve their own awards

The Star Awards is undoubtedly the most glamourous event in local showbiz and every year, millions tune in not only to see which stars strike gold on the red carpet as well as on the stage. Style chameleons like Zoe Tay and Joanne Peh regularly steal the show, while daring dressers like Ann Kok never fail to surprise us - and not always in a good way. Before we gather in front of our TV screens to play fashion police in less than two weeks, here’s a look back at some of the most memorable Star Awards looks.

In 2010, Joanne made headlines when she showed up at the Star Awards in a black cut-out dress that revealed more than we bargained for. In case you’re wondering, we were referring to her rib cage. What were you thinking?

Most Tastefully Naked: Felicia Chin (2016)

2016 was the year of the naked dress and the most provocative of them all was Felicia’s Paolo Sebastian gown. With only strategically-placed embroidery to protect her modesty, the see-through gown is so risqué, we don’t know where to look. 🙈

The Queen of Stars Avenue, cape and all, took our breath away when she floated down the red carpet in this regal Valentino number. The only thing missing is a tiara.

Constance set tongues wagging and the stage sizzling with this daring Jiki gown, which with its plunging neckline and bare back, is a recipe for wardrobe malfunction.

Rui En borrowed from the guys and beat them at their game at the 2010 ceremony looking all glamourous and sultry in a tux. Our favourite part? The undone bow tie.

A full feather dress can be hard to pull off without looking like a character from Sesame Street, but Becks does it with aplomb in this iridescent peacock feather from Burberry Prorsum.
