The top 10 cheongsam looks from Last Madame
The sex scene between Joanne Peh and her co-star Jeff Chou in Last Madame may be all the buzz lately, but the Toggle Originals series had us tuning in for the elegant cheongsams just as much as the titillating action.
But can you blame us? There’s something inherently sexy about the cheongsam, with the thigh-high slits and figure-hugging silhouette, accentuating every curve on a woman’s body. Here are our favourite qipaos from the ladies of the House of Phoenix.

Walk on the wild side
With its black and gold cheetah-like print, this velvet cheongsam could easily veer into trashy territory. But Fung Lan (Joanne Peh) pulled it off with aplomb.

The LBD
Every woman needs a little black dress and the same goes for the ladies of the ‘30s. And Soh Fan’s (Amanda Ang) cheongsam, with its floral lace and contrasting pearl buttons, is the epitome of timeless elegance.

Go bold or go home
We love everything about Muk Lei’s (Roxanne Zhang) qipao, from the Ankara-esque print to the contrasting colours.

Regal in red
The regal hue, sheer sequinned cheongsam, and fur stole - this look is glamorous, sultry, and totally befitting of the queen bee of the House of Phoenix.

All glammed up
Dramatic and bold, this cheongsam with the baroque-style print is exactly the sort of statement piece you'd think expect the loud and unapologetic Siu Lan (Constance Lau) to wear. Her geisha-style makeup added “oomph” to her bombshell look.

Polka dots
Polka dots are timeless and we love how this subtle print, along with the flowy sleeves, lend a modern vibe to Soh Fan’s chiffon cheongsam. We can picture ourselves wearing a short, frilly version of this to brunch.

Sheer stunner
Fung Lan nailed the sheer trend with this demure yet provocative embroidered qipao.

Clashing colours
Not many people can pull off wearing bright green and orange prints, but leave it to House of Phoenix’s rising star and fashionista to make it work.

Pretty in pink
Fung Lan showed her softer side, looking really pretty in pink in this floral cheongsam - a stark contrast to her usual striking looks.

Brocade beauty
Okay, so this cheongsam belonged to Fung Lan but we can see why Chi Ling (Fiona Fussi) was obsessed with it. She was a vision in this simple yet stunning brocade number. I think we can all agree she wore it better.
