Forget diets - Chinese New Year is all about feasting and bingeing on goodies and each year, we sacrifice our waistlines to search for unique festive offerings that are both yummy and Instagrammable. So with the Year of the Pig just around the corner, we sussed out the most oink-worthy creations for you to pig out to. It doesn’t get more porks-perous than this!

Fortune Piggy Yusheng (small $68, large $128)

Striking, elaborate and super adorable, this hog-shaped yusheng specially sculpted by celebrity Chef Ku Keung and his team and served with salmon, crispy white bait and tangy sauce, makes for an excellent centrepiece at your dining table, though we think the two critters at the bottom look more like monkeys than piglets. It is also available with their Lunar New Year menus, priced from $118 per person or S$1,398 for a table of 10.

Let’s face it, the sashimi is the star of the yusheng, so it makes sense that this epic platter shines the spotlight on the fish, or erm, the pig. Apart from the luscious slices of hamachi (yellowtail) which are displayed in the shape of a pig, other luxe ingredients include fresh lobster, Australian abalone, fish roe, and eight pig-shaped nian gao (Chinese glutinous rice cakes). Huat ah!

This is no sand sculpture but a salt-crusted boar packed with luxurious ingredients such as whole hock ham, eight-headed Australian abalone, sea cucumber, and golden canopy. Wrapped in lotus leaves, the ingredients are encased in a boar-shaped salt crust and baked for six hours to seal in the umami flavour. Comes with eight handcrafted nian gao and a hammer for you to do the honours.
