What the stars ate this week

This week, celeb parents Qi Yuwu and Joanne Peh shared a heartwarming moment despite the chilly weather in Beijing, whilst Kimberly Wang tried to steal Shane Pow's favourite burger (even though she has one of her own). Meanwhile, Elvin Ng and Romeo Tan got to enjoy a BBQ dinner on set, Nathan Hartono reluctantly tried a dog-shaped treat and Vivian Lai tucked into a Sakura-themed dish.

What they ate: Candied hawthorn

Yummy factor: Yuwu shared that he has a soft spot for bing tang hu lu, and who better to share the traditional sweet treat with than his wifey, Joanne? We wonder if the Qi babies love it too...

Michelle Chong

What she ate: Birthday cake, Irish duck and more

Yummy factor: Michelle celebrated her 42nd birthday (Apr 22) in advance with a bunch of her best mates, including Michelle Chia, Cynthia Koh, and Jeff Wang. And as we all know, birthdays are one of the best occasions to indulge in all things sinful. Her picks? Succulent Irish duck, flavourful claypot rice, suckling pig, and plenty of strawberry shortcake (topped with a OTT candle, no less).

Nathan Hartono

What he ate: Pug-shaped dessert

Yummy factor: While Nathan may have felt guilty taking a bite out of a bulldog-shaped chocolate ice cream, it certainly didn’t stop the dog lover from enjoying the creamy treat anyway! We think it’s the scorching weather that made him cave.

What she ate: Burger platter

Yummy factor: What’s better than a Shake Shack burger, you ask? Well, a whole tray of it, of course. And if you’re intending to get in line at the NY burger chain’s brand-new outlet at Jewel Changi Airport, the shroom burger comes highly recommended.

What they ate: Shrooms burgers

Yummy factor: Speaking of Shake Shack’s shroom burger, it’s Shane’s all-time favourite as well. And if you follow him on Instagram, you’d have seen the hilarious squabble between him and Kim over the precious burger (or what’s left of it) -- guess who got the last bite?

What they ate: Barbequed meat

Yummy factor: It’s not every day you get to enjoy a BBQ on set after a long day of filming -- no wonder both Elvin and Romeo are all smiles! And while Elvin went straight for the proteins, Romeo got a little creative and made a meat sandwich.

What they ate: Hotpot

Yummy factor: With the Star Awards done and dusted, there’s no better time to head out for a steamboat supper with ingredients that cover every inch of the allotted dining space. Hong Ling, Ying Ying and Nick abandoned their diets for one night and went all out at Hai Di Lao with platters of meats, fried beancurd rolls and more.

What she ate: Pizza

Yummy factor: Sonia certainly ate her slice of pizza with pizzazz. The pizza life may have chosen her, but let’s face it, hardly anyone else looks that good munching on junk food in a bikini.

What she ate: Tissue prata

Yummy factor: Florence may have had her shades on, but it hasn't stopped us from spotting the glee in her eyes whilst holding on to a piece of her paper-thin snack. After all, we all know how crispy tissue prata and fish curry go oh so well together.

What they ate: Doner pide kebab

Yummy factor: If you're going to have kebab in Istanbul, you've gotta have the best -- or so says Kewei and Alfred. The couple tried their first doner pide kebab from popular resto Dönerci Şahin Usta, and it was chock full of juicy meat slices, pickled onions and jalapeños. And while they didn't think it was mind-blowing, Kewei and Alfred looked pretty happy wolfing theirs down!

What they ate: Birthday dim sum brunch

Yummy factor: Is it just us, or is Jamie positively glowing of late? The hot mama recently celebrated her birthday (April 27) with her kiddos and hubby at Chinese resto Mitzo, and aside from the usual suspects, she couldn’t get enough of the divine cheese tarts that were served during brunch.

Jaime Teo

What she ate: Chocolate birthday cake

Yummy factor: Fun fact – did you know that Jaime Teo and Jamie Yeo (yes, we know it gets confusing) share the same birth date and year? They were even born in the same hospital! Here’s Jaime celebrating her birthday with her kitty and adorable daughter, Renee, who attempted to prep some breakfast cereal for her mum as a birthday treat. How sweet! Psst.. That chocolate cake looks delish.

What they ate: Char kway teow

Yummy factor: Terence and Florence had a long overdue catch-up session over char kway teow and fresh coconut juice, and we must say that plate of sinful goodness must have been a distraction for them both!

Constance Lau

Constance Lau

What she ate: Soft-boiled eggs

Yummy factor: If you’re anything like Constance, you’d slurp up your soft-boiled eggs gleefully in one mouthful. Yes, coupled with a dash of black sauce and pepper, the runny goodness is worth ruining a perfectly-applied lippie.

Vivian Lai

Vivian Lai

What she ate: Duck “sushi”

Yummy factor: Vivian had an interesting duck-themed dish that looked most delicious -- think crisp duck skin neatly portioned out and rolled up with rice compacted within. Could it be sakura-flavoured too?

Michelle Wong

What she ate: McNuggets

Yummy factor: A girl’s gotta eat, and that’s exactly what Michelle did after attending the Star Awards. Her choice of supper? McNuggets with curry sauce dip. Poor thing, she must have been really hungry after the ceremony!

Ferlyn Wong

What she ate: Uni and ikura don

Yummy factor: Ferlyn looks mighty pleased with her uni and ikura don, and for good reason! Think glossy pearls of salmon roe paired with fresh and creamy sea urchin atop a bed of Japanese rice - perfect with a swig of cold beer. Yums.

What he ate: Monster-themed dim sum

Yummy factor: Why go for regular dim sum when you can have a liu sha bao with bulging, squiggly eyes? Jeremy even tried looking the part in his selfie - A for effort there.

What she ate: Shabu shabu

Yummy factor: We love how fresh the pork slices she had looks -- they were sliced so thinly that they cooked within seconds in the boiling broth. It must have been heaven to indulge in a steaming hot meal in such chilly weather!

Joanna Dong

What she ate: Japanese seafood spread

Yummy factor: A hungry Joanna was most pleased to get her hands on (or should we say chopsticks?) on a fresh selection of seafood, which included creamy uni, whole abalones and various types of sashimi served on a bed of ice. Itadakimasu!
