What the stars ate this week

What a week! For starters, Tay Kewei and Alfred Sim dined at Salt Bae’s resto in Turkey, Hong Ling got her hands on a huge king crab, while chef Li Nanxing got busy prepping a Peranakan-inspired feast for Mother’s Day. Plus, Hayley and Jayley Woo shared a sinful late night supper that looked absolutely tempting, and gorgeous mamas Joanne Peh and Jacelyn Tay received handmade goodies from their sweet lil kiddos.

Yummy factor: Mouth-watering! And you can get a taste of chef Li Nanxing's specialties as he will be whipping up his mother’s beloved recipes at Fullerton Hotel Singapore’s Town Restaurant just for Mother’s Day! Don't say bo jio!

What they ate: Prata for supper

Yummy factor: When it comes to supper, the Woo twins are either all in or all out. Here’s an eager Hayley eyeing the sumptuous spread in front of her while her sister looks on -- think tissue prata, coin prata and fragrant sticks of satay.

Jacelyn Tay

What she ate: Heart-shaped cookie

Yummy factor: No other cookie will ever taste as good to Jacelyn, when compared to the heart-shaped one (with a sprinkle of rainbow rice!) baked for her by Zavier in school. We’re not sure if the baked treat or her son is sweeter.

What she ate: Surprise birthday cake

Yummy factor: Happy birthday, Joanne! The hot mama was all smiles when surprised with a birthday cake while filming travel series My Star Guide in Dubai. But we bet nothing can beat the chocolate cake baked for her by her daughter, Baby Qi! Awww...

Elvin Ng

What he ate: Chicken drumsticks

Yummy factor: Elvin got an "upgrade" in the form of an extra chicken drumstick for his usual takeaway dinner on set. We don't know if it's the juicy meat or the bento box that's bursting to the brim, but his meal sure looks yummy.

Hong Ling

What she ate: Loads of fresh seafood

Yummy factor: Hong Ling looks determined to taste the best of Japan, especially since there's no more need to stick to a strict diet after the Star Awards. Aside from the delish shabu shabu last week, she also got her hands on a huge Hokkaido king crab, handmade sushi and sashimi don that look really refreshing.

What they ate: Mains served by Salt Bae

Yummy factor: At Salt Bae's restaurant in Turkey, it's not about what sort of food is served, but rather how it's served -- especially if it's by the Internet sensation himself. Nonetheless, according to Kewei, the dishes were delectable!

What she ate: Homemade tempura

Yummy factor: It's not the first time Michelle has enlisted the help of Papa Chong in the kitchen, and the avid cooks whipped up some pretty legit looking tempura. In fact, Michelle couldn't even wait for it to cool before taking a bite!

What he ate: Homemade onion rings

Yummy factor: Michelle Chong wasn't the only one getting busy in the kitchen -- Noah fried his own onion rings to a glorious golden brown and they turned out to be super crispy as well! So good that he made another batch the next day.

Yvonne Lim

What she ate: Lunch with a seaview

Yummy factor: Well.. of sorts anyway. Yvonne shared an Instagram story of herself about to tuck into her packet of cai fan whilst on set. Considering the heat outdoors, however, Yvonne probably appreciated the refreshing cup of ice-cream she had for dessert better.

What they ate: Korean army stew

Yummy factor: Both Cynthia and Patricia shared their “fave” bubbling pot of Korean army stew filled with ramyeon, mushrooms, chives, sliced sausages, and more. We wonder if they managed to polish off the generous portions on their own?

What he ate: Huge prawns

Yummy factor: The prawns he had as part of a zi char meal were so huge and fresh that Yaodong had to take a selfie with the dish. And from the looks of it, it must have been really crispy on the outside and juicy and flavourful within.

What she ate: Charcoal burger and tea

Yummy factor: It may have been way past lunch time, but that hasn’t stopped Phyllis from ordering a generously-sized charcoal burger with a side of french fries. Having a cuppa along with it makes it suitable for afternoon tea, right?

Pornsak

What he ate: Ice-blended oyster

Yummy factor: Ever the adventurous foodie, and in the name of #FattyPornPorn, Pornsak was game enough to sip on some ice-blended oyster. Yup, it sounds bizarre, and he didn’t exactly look impressed. Still, anything for the ‘gram, right?

What she ate: Nasi lemak

Yummy factor: Nope, you’re not mistaken -- Sharon managed to tuck into our iconic nasi lemak and beef rendang at her local Parisian cafe, where they had a Singapore-themed pop-up. We wonder if it tastes anything like our Power Nasi Lemak?

What she ate: Chocolate biscuit

Yummy factor: The self-proclaimed fan of junk food munched on a chocolate-coated biscuit while being all glammed up for a magazine cover shoot. Well, what can we say? A girl's gotta have her snack when the cravings strike, no matter the situation.

Yummy factor: Rozz actually stood in line for 40 minutes to get her Michelin-starred bowl of Teochew-style minced pork noodles, so it had better be worth the effort. Who else is mentally making a note to head down to Tai Hwa for some flavourful, vinegary goodness after seeing her Instagram story?
