What the stars ate this week

This week, Fann Wong and Christopher Lee got ready for the Dragon Boat Festival, while Shen Momo went on a cruise and gastronomic adventure with his folks Tay Kewei and Alfred Sim. Meanwhile, Chen Yixin celebrated her birthday with her parents and brother (well sort of, you'll see); Qi Yuwu satisfied his cravings for bak chor mee and Lawrence Wong couldn't help but indulge in some glorious fried chicken and waffles.

Desmond Tan

What he ate: Decadent beef feast at Fat Cow

Yummy factor: Our hearts skipped a beat when we saw photo after photo of Desmond's mouthwatering omakase meal that included dishes like steamed rib eye, sumiyaki beef tongue, grilled beef haneshita with whisky and wine pairing. It's super indulgent, but also the best way to kickstart the weekend.

Qi Yuwu

What he ate: Bak chor mee in what looks like an EAT outlet

Yummy factor: Yuwu seldom films himself reviewing food, so when he posts a video of himself extolling the virtues of bak chor mee (yay to it being cheap and delicious, nay to the sad lettuce leaf and token slices of mushrooms and pork) in fluent Cantonese, you know he's a fan of it.

What she ate: Bingsu

Yummy factor: If you’re anything like Bonnie, you’d fancy having a cold dessert (topped with ice cream, no less) on a chilly day too. Are you sure you can finish all of it though?

What they ate: Birthday cake

Yummy factor: Happy birthday, Yixin! She celebrated her 19th birthday earlier in the week with her family and loved ones, and we couldn’t help but LOL when we saw the photo she posted on Instagram with her bro Chen Yixi digitally placed next to daddy Edmund Chen. On a side note, don’t the pink macarons on her cake look oh so tempting?

What they ate: Kueh dadar

Yummy factor: Though these kueh look a little pale, Yvonne says they are delish and she almost polished off the whole box herself. It’s a good thing she is moving back to Singapore and will be able to indulge in local treats anytime she wants.

What he ate: Fried chicken and waffles

Yummy factor: We don’t know about you, but the golden-brown fried chicken and waffles sure look delicious paired with maple syrup and cream! And Lawrence is just wondering how he should tackle the sinful brunch menu item.

Shen Momo

What he ate: Japanese bento

Yummy factor: Aww, could lil Shen Momo get any cuter with his bowl haircut and bib? He got to tuck into a generously-sized Japanese bento meal while holidaying with his parents Tay Kewei and Alfred Sim on the Genting Dream Cruise, and he looks like he can't decide whether he should have the takoyaki balls first or go straight for the French fries!

What she ate: Soft serve ice cream

Yummy factor: “Mmmm.. I’ll devour you right after this photo has been taken.” Well, at least that’s what Jeanette’s expression seems to say! And is it just us, or does her perfectly executed sakura and green tea soft serve match her surroundings?

Tong Bingyu

What she ate: Japanese fusion cuisine including yellowtail sashimi, grilled salmon, and more

Yummy factor: We’ll have one of whatever she’s having at Nobu Kuala Lumpur, even if we don’t exactly know what the glorious plate of golden yellow goodness is. Could it be tempura, some sort of fried fish or even uni?

Jade Seah

What she ate: Ice cream

Yummy factor: To Jade, there are few things better than a solid Hai Di Lao hotpot meal, but she’ll make an exception for chocolate truffle ice cream from Ben and Jerry’s -- a whole pint of it, in fact! Where do all the calories she consumes go?

What they ate: Sunday brunch

Yummy factor: Sunday brunch isn’t as fun without a bunch of pals enjoying prosecco with you, and that’s probably why the gang - the Woo Twins, Ben Kheng, Joshua Tan, Noah Yap, and more - met up at LAVO Singapore for a leisurely meal over the weekend.

Oon Shu An

What she ate: Fish ball crackers

Yummy factor: Shu an undoubtedly loves her snacks, and fish ball crackers in particular are a winner for her -- just look at how fast she got to the end of the plastic container. They may be made of 90% fish (or at least that what it claims), but that doesn’t mean you can binge on them!

What she ate: Insta-worthy meal at Botany

Yummy factor: Apple paid a visit to actress Julie Tan’s cafe, Botany, and boy did her meal look appetising! She ordered the Uni Truffle Capellini and the Boneless Chicken Leg with Balinese Salsa, both of which were healthier (but no less colourful and yummy) choices that appealed to the keto fan’s healthful lifestyle.

Yummy factor: Sora, who is holidaying in Osaka, couldn’t help but smile in contentment after having a mouthful of her favourite fresh salmon sashimi. After all, there’s probably no better way to load up on heart-loving omega-3 fatty acids, is there?
