What the stars ate this week

This week, Tay Ping Hui conquered the Monday blues with a mountain of snacks, Tong Bingyu took up a spicy instant noodles challenge, and Rosalyn Lee got her fill of Malaysia’s best street food. Meanwhile, Chen Hanwei celebrated turning the big 5-0; Taufik Batisah enjoyed a legit homemade steak along with some chao tar fries (apparently that's how he likes them), and Vivian Lai tucked into Teochew-style porridge with fellow celeb foodies Zoe Tay, Pornsak, and Kym Ng.

Taufik Batisah

What he ate: Homemade steak

Yummy factor: Taufik is one lucky man - he was craving for steak after seeing his friend's Instagram post, and his wifey made him some, complete with a creamy sauce, criss-cut fries and plenty of salad. The fries were even, erm, burnt 'cos that's apparently "how you like it" .

What he ate: Mountain of snacks

Yummy factor: Ping Hui mused in his caption that there’s probably no better way to “beat the Monday Blues than to chomp your way through the week with a mountain of snacks”... Well, we can’t agree more - especially if there are lots of chocolate chip cookies involved!

What she ate: Ghost pepper instant noodles

Yummy factor: So Bingyu took up the #spicychallenge that’s currently all the rage in Malaysia, and it looks like she emerged triumphant. The brave lady got her hands on the infamously-spicy snack, which features extremely spicy seasoning and black-coloured noodles. She added a sunny side up for good measure, and managed to eat it all up without shedding a tear!

What she ate: Malaysian street food

Yummy factor: Does Rozz’s char kuay teow from Restoran 88 in Johor Bahru look shiok or what? Fried with double duck eggs, cockles, lup cheong, chilli and boasting lots of wok hei flavour, it looks super delicious. However, it’s definitely not for the health-conscious. Also, check out the 3-in-1 nian gao she had - the nian gao was sandwiched between yam, sweet potato and a crispy breaded crust! In case you're wondering, it is from Hua Zai 3 in 1 Chinese Cake
