What the stars ate this week

Get ready for a parade of sweets in this week's roundup, from Sonia Chew and Joakim Gomez's diabetes-inducing Crazyshakes and Tracy Lee's waffles heaped with ice cream, to Felicia Chin's favourite chocolate bar from her school days. Meanwhile, Shane Pow scarfed down a Big Mac while Zhang Yaodong helped himself to a pimped up bowl of bak kut teh.

Milkshakes: Joakim Gomez, Sonia Chew, and the Muttons

What they ate: Crazyshakes from Black Tap

Yummy factor: Decorated with cotton candy, pretzel sticks, an entire slice of funfetti cake, peanut butter cups and more, these are as over-the-top as milkshakes come, and yes, they probably WILL bring all the boys to the yard.

What she ate: Twix

Yummy factor: "My comfort food ever since primary school," Felicia wrote. Ah, the everlasting appeal of childhood favourite snacks. Does anyone else feel a tug of nostalgia when they eat a Twix?

Eleanor Lee

What she ate: Hot pot, froyo, and hawker food like mee rebus, ngoh hiang and bak chor mee with mum Quan Yifong

Yummy factor: Looks like Eleanor made the most of her trip back home, indulging in everything from sweets to local delights. The most enticing has got to be that bowl of bak chor mee, best enjoyed with extra vinegar and chilli.

Elvin Ng

What he ate: After filming at Ash and Char in the morning, Elvin was treated to a free lunch of mussels, fried chicken and crispy golden fries.

Yummy factor: If only we were treated to free lunches for our hard work too. Just the look of those mussels sautéed in beer and garlic is enough to make us drool.

What she ate: Roast suckling pig and other food at the Walk With Me opening ceremony with stars like Fann Wong and Constance Song

Yummy factor: That roast suckling pig looks as crispy as they come, with more than enough meat to feed them all.

Zhang Yaodong

What he ate: Bak kut teh

Yummy factor: As if his herbal bak kut teh wasn't nourishing enough, Yaodong pimped it with essence of chicken which we suspect he has in abundance after his hospital stay. Don't go overboard!

What he ate: A Big Mac from McDonald's

Yummy factor: The way he's looking at the Big Mac (while rapping his heart out to it) in that right photo is probably the way he looks at Kimberly. Just kidding!

Kate Pang and Aden Chen

What they ate: Garlic, because Kate had previously told Aden that eating garlic would make him smarter.

Yummy factor: Well, practice what you preach, parents. Little Aden not only eats his garlic, he makes sure that mummy eats her too.

What she ate: Takeaway Indian food, soba, tempura, and yong tau food from Food Republic

Yummy factor: Takeaway to the rescue for busy mums everywhere. This spread does offer variety, and it seems to have satisfied everyone's food preference -- except for poor Luke, who was eyeing the crispy tempura in vain.

What she ate: Agar agar

Yummy factor: We were floored when we realised this was jelly. It's almost too pretty to eat. If they're real though, we might pass because while a few edible petals are fine, "bouquet" isn't really a part of our diet.

What she ate: Bak chor mee for breakfast from Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

Yummy factor: As tempting as this bowl looks with its succulent mushrooms and minced meat, it's that bag of kopi (just out of frame) that makes this a true Singapore breakfast.

What he ate: Hot pot

Yummy factor: Shaun was captivated by the guy pulling noodles. This hot pot feast is already fancy enough but the added showmanship really brings it up a notch.

Jeanette Aw

What she drank: Hot brewed tea

Yummy factor: "A time to relax and unwind," Jeanette captioned. She looked ready to do just that with her tea. We wonder if she, like us, ever asks for hot water refills re-using the same teabag again and again (AKA the cheapo's way to overstay at a cafe).

What she ate: A food court spread including noodles, carrot cake, and chwee kueh

Yummy factor: We'd be grinning too, if we were about to tuck into this deliciousness -- and in a pleasantly uncrowded food court, no less.

What she ate: Thai boat noodles and Thai iced tea from Boat Noodle SG

Yummy factor: Looks like Michelle got her Thai food fix. When it comes to these addictive albeit small-portioned Thai boat noodles, "eat, stack, repeat" is the standing order.

What she ate: Duck -- or more specifically, a ducks' beak -- in Bangkok

Yummy factor: "First time eating a duck's beak and its tongue and then tongueing its tongue," Rozz wrote. Not going to lie, we were a bit grossed out, but Rozz went at the beak with gusto.

What she ate: Afternoon tea with Marimekko cups and plates aboard the Genting Dream Cruise

Yummy factor: As if macarons and bite-sized pastries weren't enticing enough, how cheerful does this afternoon tea set look?

Jeffrey Xu

What he drank: We're not entirely sure what he drank (maybe naturally flavoured water?) but it looks to have had a calming effect on Jeffrey.

Yummy factor: Anyone know what that yellow substance in the jar is? Also, we're curious about what's in that shot glass. Was it some healthy potion or superfood concoction? Jeffrey, do tell!

Tracy Lee

What she ate: Waffles with huge ice cream scoops and sliced bananas

Yummy factor: Tracy's husband took this rare photo of her, and to her delight, it turned out so well she didn't even have to edit it. We concur: both Tracy and the waffles look photogenic indeed.

What she ate: Snowskin mooncakes from Paradise Group

Yummy factor: She had us at "Jasmine with Hazelnut Crunch," although the Black Sesame Truffle sounds intriguing too. Plus, this is a gorgeous box we'd keep.

What she ate: Japanese cuisine in Taiwan

Yummy factor: Seafood heaven, much? We won't venture to guess how much this meal cost, but we're sure it was well worth it for Vivian, who posted a whole Instagram story about it (while giving us serious cravings for sashimi).

Yummy factor: Another sashimi sesh? That does it - we're heading to Cold Storage stat to get our fix.
