What she ate: Her birthday cake to celebrate turning 24

Yummy factor: Carrie was so excited about the chocolate cake, she unboxed it on the side of crowded shopping streets. Hope she got first dibs on those fudgy chocolate balls.

What he ate: Small bites with a big drink

Yummy factor: Honestly, we were almost blinded by Xu Bin’s luminous complexion to notice the drink and food. But hey, cheers to looking as radiant as him in 2018.

What he ate: Thyme, though it’s unlikely he consumed it like this

Yummy factor: “My first meal of 2018 was leftovers from New Year’s Eve dinner, because this year, I don’t want to waste anymore thyme,” Nathan captioned, followed by the hashtag, “I’m gonna leave now k bye hahahahahaha.” Well, at least his humour outweighs the food.

Kimberly Chia

What she ate: Japanese set meal with ebi tempura

Yummy factor: Sizzle, sizzle. We can’t tell if that’s a chicken or tofu burger patty, but it’s in dire need of some sauce.

What he ate: Lee Teng ate to his heart’s content in Japan, feasting on Kobe steak at Mouriya and unagi don at Michelin Star restaurant, Unagiya Hirokawa.

Yummy factor: So life changing was Lee Teng’s Kobe beef experience that he fretted, “What do I do when I can’t eat such delicious steak in the future!!!”

What she ate: Flying fish roe sushi from Sushi Express

Yummy factor: Bring on the towers of stacked plates! It may not be high-end, but plucking goodies from a sushi train is much more fun.

Jaime Teo

What she ate: Toast, kopi, and soft boiled eggs

Yummy factor: As far as classic kopitiam breakfasts go, this one is the tops. The eggs should win an award for most slurp-worthy.

Kelly Poon

What she ate: Hot pot, her first meal of 2018

Yummy factor: Looks like it's time to use the fat skimmer…or not. After all, fat and oil can enrich the hearty flavour of the broth – the best part.

Wallace Ang

What he ate: Strawberry In The Clouds from Karmakamet Diner in Bangkok. It’s essentially strawberry shortcake in a cup, with cotton candy looming over it.

Yummy factor: It’s not that clear in this photo but the cotton candy is actually rainbow coloured – a beauty to be sure, but probably a hassle to eat. Falls under “Things We Order For the ‘Gram.”

What she ate: Ice cream rolls at Kalare Night Bazaar in Chiang Mai

Yummy factor: Several Oreo cookies were smashed and mixed into the ice cream before it was all rolled up into a big fat roll, then topped with a huge dollop of whipped cream. Just looking at this Instagram story video made us drool.
