All the photos that made us hungry this week

Rebecca Lim

What she ate: Rebecca and her fan club enjoyed a lohei lunch and mandarin oranges with the senior citizens of Peace Connect Senior Activity Centre.

Yummy factor: Seeing as Rebecca even performed some songs to entertain the senior citizens during lunch, we’re sure they were full in their bellies AND hearts.

Jeanette Aw

What she ate: Bread that she made herself

Yummy factor: It was Jeanette’s first time making bread, and the turn out was quite impressive – especially the braided bread. We had more fun watching Jeanette in action though, especially when she stuck out her tongue and flashed a grin in the middle of all that concentration.

What he ate: Croissant, soft boiled egg, and bagel for breakfast

Yummy factor: Nothing beats the simple joy of a buttery croissant that’s still warm in your hand. One bite into it likely rained down crispy golden flakes. Yum!

What she ate: A belated birthday meal organised by Yvonne Lim, with a star-studded turnout including Zoe Tay, Huang Biren, Hong Hui Fang, Phyllis Quek, Candyce Toh, Ang Junyang, Charlyn Lin, Chen Han Wei, and May Phua.

Yummy factor: What a heartwarming gathering, and so cosy they almost couldn’t fit around the table. We hope they ate plenty of cake and delicious bites between all the exciting catching up.

Desmond Tan

What he ate: Ice cream bar while freezing his as* off in Iceland

Yummy factor: Don't we all love the thrill of eating ice cream during winter? But did you know that eating cold food when it's cold actually warms you up? True story. And best of all, you can savour it slowly 'cos it doesn't melt as quickly.

Kelly Poon

What she ate: A Popaganda Sorbet at the Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne launch party.

Yummy factor: We're guessing this was pretty tasty, based on how little lipstick is left on Kelly's lips.

Hong Ling

What she ate: A sumptuous seafood spread with Zheng Geping and Edwin Goh

Yummy factor: “I love Fifty and Fabulous so much, good food everyday,” Hong Ling captioned, followed by the hashtag, “Other people get thinner, I get fatter during filming.” Judging by the size of those prawns and mussels, we’d say they were well worth the calories.

What he ate: Cheese pie and chili cheese fries at Harry’s Café de Wheels and ice cream under a tree at Hyde Park in Sydney

Yummy factor: “Reasons why I love going down under,” Joshua captioned. Oh yes, it’s not hard to see why, especially with fries that look so shiok.

Chen Xiu Huan

What she ate: This mama took newly 18-year-old Shalynn out for her birthday meal, where the two toasted and hunkered down to the ultimate British Sunday roast.

Yummy factor: The roast beef typically gets all the love but it’s the mashed potatoes and most importantly, the gravy’s thick, soothing homeliness that’s got us pining for this dish.

You Yi

What she ate: Say Chiizu's Hokkaido cheese toast

Yummy factor: Look at that stretch - Nat Ho would be proud! We enjoy eating these cheese toasts not only because they are delish, but also because it is the only time we can get away with playing with our food.

Pornsak

What he ate: A $300 steak at La Barca and pandan coconut shake on a separate occasion

Yummy factor: The deafening sizzle of that steak was enough to make us drool. Pornsak raved about its meaty aroma and buttery, juicy taste. Sigh, one day he’s guzzling tropical shakes and the next he’s feasting on $300 steaks. No wonder he hashtagged, “I love my job.”

Jeremy Chan

What he ate: As Chinese New Year winded down, Jeremy enjoyed a simple outdoor meal with friends including Lee Teng, Mark Lee, and Vivian Lai

Yummy factor: We can tell by the thumbs up and peace signs that it was a joyful gathering. Cheers!

Yvonne Lim

What she ate: Min jiang kueh or peanut pancake

Yummy factor: This is how we like our min jiang kueh: thick, fluffy and overflowing with crushed peanuts. It's a little messy to eat but definitely worth the trouble.

Jaime Teo

Jaime Teo

What she ate: Jaime had herself quite a gastronomic week, making her way through roast meats at 38S Eating House, a serving of yong tau foo the size of her head, and Chun Guang Classic Coconut Candy brought back from China.

Yummy factor: While hawker food is the tops, we’re more intrigued by the traditional-looking coconut candy wrapping because we’re fools who fall for nice packaging. We did a deep dive investigation into this candy and apparently someone’s selling a 36-piece pack of it for $50 online. Is it overpriced and overhyped, or truly that life changing?

Huang Biren

Huang Biren

What she ate: Yusheng in a disproportionately gigantic bowl

Yummy factor: The upside is that there’s less to clean up because the bowl presumably catches it all.

What he drank: Kopi o kosong peng, his daily staple

Yummy factor: After sipping all of this, Edwin’s face probably transformed into something more lively.

What she ate: Yu sheng with friends including Yvonne Lim, Chen Xiu Huan, and Aileen Tan

Yummy factor:  Huat is that smoke coming out of the yu sheng heap? Way to end Chinese New Year with a bang!

What she drank: Coconut water

Yummy factor: What do you do when you can’t finish it all? “Da bao in water bottle,” Florence hashtagged. Don’t forget to scrape up all the milky coconut flesh first.

Michelle Wong

Michelle Wong

What she ate: Cream cheese ice cream at Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory

Yummy factor: If you’re into cheesy desserts, this is a must-try. The smooth and creamy soft serve is infused with a cheese flavour that’s subtle and satisfying (although some have expressed a desire for it to be even cheesier). Add the cheesecake and signature cheese biscuit next time, Michelle!

What they ate: Black Angus beef skewers with a soy-mirin glaze at Smoke & Pepper

Yummy factor: Our stomachs just growled looking at this. It’s even served over hot charcoal to keep it (and its juices) warm.

Sharon Au

What she ate: A meal with her black-clad gal pals including Michelle Chong

Yummy factor: Admittedly it’s hard to judge the food when you can barely make out what it is, but when Sharon and Michelle are involved, you can bet they ordered well.

Shalynn Tsai

Shalynn Tsai

What she ate: Her birthday cake to celebrate the big 1-8 with her family

Yummy factor: Shalynn thanked her friends and family for their love and support, “having to deal with a J2’s stress and occasional (slightly worrying) breakdowns.” Well it looks like this moment was free of all stress – especially with a towering cake front and centre. Happy birthday, Shalynn!

Sonia Chew

Sonia Chew

What she ate: Smoked salmon tartine and chowder

Yummy factor: That delectable tartine is about to be chomped up in two bites. Unfortunately Sonia experienced a bad bout of food poisoning after all the Chinese New Year feasting, so we hope she’s taking it easy now.
