What the stars ate this week

This week, Mark Lee ate a bowl of laksa that was larger than life, Ya Hui played Santa to her friends, and the Muttons appeared in the form of latte art. Meanwhile, Thomas Ong had a huge breakfast in Kuala Lumpur and Carole Lin and Tay Ping Hui caught up over cakes, conversations, and, erm, a very girly pink drink.

Mark Lee

What he ate: Laksa

Yummy factor: Fancy having a jumbo bowl of laksa that’s bigger than your own face? Well, that’s what Mark did on a trip on Dream Cruise. As tempting as the rich gravy looks, we wonder how he managed to polish it off alongside a table full of satay, fried carrot cake, tofu and more.

What they ate: The old friends caught up over tea and cakes

Yummy factor: Kudos to Ping Hui for being man enough to order a girly pink drink complete with strawberry swirls. Totally not judging.

What they ate: Japanese fare in Germany

Yummy factor: You can take the girl out of Asia, but you can't take the Asian out of the girl. After two weeks in Europe, Yixin was craving rice (which she paired with salmon terriyaki) and we don't blame her. Hope it tasted as good as it looked.

What he ate: Breakfast

Yummy factor: Have breakfast like a King they said.. And so Thomas did. In fact, he went all out - think KL-style Hokkien mee, claypot rice, sandwiches, and more. Also, we're pretty sure the old school pastries are perfect with kopi.

What she ate: Giant crab soup dumpling in Shanghai

Yummy factor: While we love xiao long bao - and an XL one at that - sucking down an XLB out of a cardboard box just feels wrong.

Ang Junyang

What he ate: Ichiran ramen

Yummy factor: While we are surprised that Junyang has just tried his first bowl of Ichiran ramen in Taiwan, it’s pretty obvious he loved it. After all, he wiped out an entire bowl and an extra serving of chashu!

What she ate: Tteokbokki cheese platter

Yummy factor: Add cheese to anything and it’s almost guaranteed to turn out awesome, like Vivian’s Korean spicy rice cakes. Served with a generous amount of cheese, it’s the perfect combo for a comforting meal. Now all that’s missing is some chilled Makgeolli...

What he ate: Birthday cake

Yummy factor: Hunky dad Andie celebrated his 34th birthday (Jun 16) earlier in the week with his kiddos, and it turned out to be a triple celebration as it was Father's Day as well as Avery's birthday! Aden gave his daddy a sweet kiss while Avery looked like she couldn't wait to get a slice of the yummy cake in front of her.

Yummy factor: Wifey Pan Ling Ling shared an Instagram Story of her delectable lunch with Shinan, which featured several side dishes and a generous serving of succulent meats like tender soy sauce chicken, char siew and sio bak. Does that sound shiok or what?

Yummy factor: Whoa, is James Lye really 50? The former actor had a double celebration with lots of cake for his birthday (Jun 17) as well as Father's Day with his wife Diana Ser and their three kiddos, and he doesn't look a day over 40.

What she ate: Fruits

Yummy factor: Joanne fueled up for her first day on set for upcoming Toggle Original series The Last Madame with a box of grapes and pear slices - we suppose she prepared something healthy and light for fear of a food coma whilst filming?

Yummy factor: Ah Jie got her hands on some Portuguese egg tarts that were flaky, crisp and perfectly caramelised. We'd gladly get fat if we could have some of those arts too.

What she ate: Father's Day dinner

Yummy factor: The last week saw a flurry of social media posts from celebs paying tribute to their fathers, and Denise’s contribution was a snapshot of her and Dad tucking into a sumptuous dinner to celebrate the occasion. The real star of the photo, however, is the slab of crisp roast pork belly on her dad's plate.

Michelle Chong

What she ate: Father's Day tea party

Yummy factor: Although Papa Chong is usually the one behind the fancy homecooked meals that are often featured on Michelle’s posts, he got to relax and enjoy a delish Father’s Day tea party over the weekend. To thank her dad, Michelle prepped an atas cheese platter, pizza, sandwiches, curry puffs, fried chicken wings and more. Yummy!
