What the stars ate this week

This week saw the stars celebrating joyous occasions over yummy nosh, like Pierre Png and Andrea DeCruz’s atas dinner at 1-Altitude for her birthday. Meanwhile, Xiang Yun and Edmund Chen had a smoochin’ good time celebrating their 30th anniversary in Dubai; Li Nanxing took the opportunity to split his own durian; Michelle Chong upped the durian game by having hers with gold flakes and champagne; and a hangry, knife-wielding Romeo Tan couldn’t wait to get started on his steak.

Romeo Tan

What he ate: Burger and lobster

Yummy factor: For his first meal in London, Romeo just had to get his hands on the signature combo set from the famed Burger & Lobster. Something about Romeo’s ravenous expression tells us that the platter probably was polished off soon after the photo was taken! Speaking of ravenous, he couldn’t wait to get started on his juicy steak (talk about lots of protein!) at Flat Iron either. A hangry Romeo with a wielding knife is not to be trifled with.

Michelle Chong

What she ate: Durian with champagne

Yummy factor: When Michelle throws a party, you know it's gonna be a good one. The hostess with the mostest took it up a notch by pairing the King of Fruits with the queen of the wine world, a.k.a. champagne (yes, you CAN have durian with alcohol.) And not just any durian, but Pahang Black Gold Mao Shan Wang with "real gold flakes" and Butter King from Dr Durian. A durian party can't get more atas than that for sure.

What they ate: Anniversary cakes

Yummy factor: Has it really been three whole decades? Whilst the loving couple celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary by holidaying with their kids across Europe and Dubai, they made it a point to spend some quality time together - over yummy looking treats, of course. Check out the luscious strawberries on the number cake!

What she ate: Chilli mussels and chips with aioli during her vacation in Perth

Yummy factor: What's better than a generous serving of juicy chilli mussels and toasted bread, you ask? Well, some crisp fries and a good swig of beer to polish it all, of course.

What he ate: Durian

Yummy factor: Fancy having some creamy durian served fresh from its husk by Li Nanxing himself? He posted a video of himself utilising a machine to split a durian, and it sure looked like a lot of effort went into it. Hope he ate his fill after all that hard work.

What they ate: Birthday cake

Yummy factor: Happy birthday, Andrea! Andrea turned 45 on Jun 24, and Pierre dedicated an aww-inducing post to his gorgeous wifey that's probably sweeter than the chocolate birthday cake in front of them. Plus, check out the delish dinner they had at 1-Altitude to celebrate the occasion - for one, the lamb chops look perfectly tender.

Pornsak

What he ate: Krispy Kreme donut in Bangkok

Yummy factor: And not just any kind, mind you, but a Foi Thong donut, a Thailand-exclusive flavour featuring slivers of savoury duck egg yolk, which he found really delicious. And according to him, the best beverage to have it with is a large cup of iced Thai milk tea - topped with whipped cream., of course.

What she ate: Macaron tower

Yummy factor: Jeanette turns 40 today (happy birthday!) and Lancome celebrated it in advance for her in Paris with a petite 3-tiered macaron tower - how cute! We also can’t help but eye the slab of tender steak that Jeanette had. And is that an octopus tentacle we spy on her dining companion’s plate?

What he ate: Kaya French toast at Tong Ah Eating House

Yummy factor: Jimmy enjoyed a quintessential local breakfast favourite with a twist - French toast with good ol’ kaya and kopi peng. There's just something about the overflowing kaya and melted butter atop his charred toast that has us craving for a plate of our own now.

What she ate: Peruvian cuisine at Lima's Central restaurant, which nabbed the No. 6 spot at the recent World's 50 Best Restaurants awards ceremony in Singapore

Yummy factor: Yasminne had a fancy Peruvian meal comprising 16 courses inspired by the country’s various regions and elevations, and boy was it a gastronomic experience. From barnacles to piranha skin (the heads featured are for presentation purposes only!), Yasminne probably ticked all the boxes for a #yolo exotic meal abroad.

Yvonne Lim

What she ate: Homecooked meal

Yummy factor: Yvonne joked that she may be suffering from "anxiety syndrome" when she cooked up a storm for the kiddos at home. Think jumbo cereal prawns, a whole steamed fish, stir-fried greens, a huge pot of soup, and more for a family of four. Don't worry, Yvonne, just save the leftovers for lunch the next day.

Yummy factor: The trio got together to celebrate Pan Lingling’s 49th birthday (June 25) last weekend and there were no holds barred when it came to their hotpot meal. Platters of marbled meats and seafood awaited the ladies as they posed for a shot together. And how cute are the dessert cages?

What she ate: Mama tom yum cup noodles

Yummy factor: Thanks to her gal pal Chantalle Ng, Hazelle managed to get her fix of instant shrimp tom yum noodles from Bangkok - with lots of springy goodness to spare. And judging by Hazelle’s delighted expression, it was certainly worth the climb for Chantalle.
