What the stars ate this week

What a week it has been -- Pornsak encountered a little mishap with his McGriddles, Qi Yuwu had an imaginary steak, and enthusiastic little Zed Zed made “fake” ice-cream for his mama, Fann Wong. Well, at least Rebecca Lim enjoyed herself in Sicily, Italy, and Yvonne Lim ate to her heart’s content at Hong Junyang and Candyce Toh's Thai boat noodles resto with gal pals Hong Huifang, Zoe Tay and Carole Lin!

What they ate: Thai boat noodles

Yummy factor: The trio, along with Carole Lin, made good on their promise to check out Hong Junyang and Candyce Toh's Thai boat noodles resto. And if you need any proof that the noodles are legit, the stacks of bowls in front of them will bear testament to it.

What they ate: Korean BBQ

Yummy factor: Ann and Patricia met up for some sizzling Korean BBQ and enjoyed succulent belly pork slices wrapped in lettuce. Plus, soju and barbequed meats go so well together. Pretty smart of them to dress down too -- lest the smell of food linger on their clothes!

What he ate: “Fake” ice cream

Yummy factor: Surprise, mama! Zed Zed was hard at work making "fake" ice cream for Fann seemingly out of cake batter, and specifically left a blue-coloured one for her in the refrigerator. Well, fake or not, it's definitely a sweet treat (in every sense of the word) to come to at the end of a long day.

Rebecca Lim

What she ate: Italian fare

Yummy factor: Rebecca looks a little overwhelmed by her yummy lunch in Sicily, Italy -- should she continue what she's having, or go for the juicy mussels pronto? We say, soak up the glorious sauce with the buttered bread, and go for the huge prawns from the pasta dish!

Thomas Ong

Thomas Ong

What he ate: Mango

Yummy factor: Check out the glee in his eyes! Thomas picked his own mango and had it sliced like a pro in Chonburi, Thailand. Fresh, ripe and juicy, it would have been perfect with a side of sticky glutinous rice and coconut milk in classic Thai style.

What Yuwu ate: Imaginary steak

Yummy factor: Despite her busy schedule, Joanne made it a point to pencil in a proper date night with her husband at the swanky resto, Forest. Yuwu must have been too hungry though -- Joanne caught him in the act of goofing around by pretending to cut up his imaginary steak. We hope dinner was served shortly after!

What he ate: Prata and mee goreng during an overnight shoot

Yummy factor: That's a lot of calories right there but who can resist prata and mee goreng, with cheese fries, no less, for supper? That runny egg is the icing on the cake.

What they ate: Hearty pastas

Yummy factor: Judging by their wide smiles, it's pretty clear that Cynthia and Patricia couldn't wait to get started on their carb-heavy lunch of “happy delicious pastas”. Well we don't know about happy, but the aglio olio looks al dente! Now, to end the meal with an ice-cold glass of wine and pint of beer? That's the life.

What they ate: Japanese food

Yummy factor: Kim, being the model girlfriend that she is, brought Shane to have Japanese since he couldn't join her on her recent trip to Japan. But with a uni bowl looking as sweet and creamy as this one -- topped with a cured egg yolk and juicy ikura, no less -- it's safe to say Shane didn't miss out on too much!

What they drank: Gin and tonic

Yummy factor: Darryl and Richie tried "a special cocktail" by made by Ian Fang at his newly-opened resto, House of Mu. The towkay's concoction turned out to be a decent gin and tonic.

Chen xiuhuan

What she ate: Mod European nosh

Yummy factor: Also at the House of Mu was actress Chen Xiu Huan, and we can't help but notice the exquisite plating. The grilled scallops were a clear winner for her -- she loved them so much that she had another serving of it ordered.

Pornsak

What he ate: McGriddles

Yummy factor: Pornsak was so afraid that McGriddles would be phased out once again that he bought three at one go and couldn't finish the third. He steamed it the next day for breakfast and the cheese ended up melting and becoming a gooey mess. But according to him, the liquid cheese permeated the rest of the layers and actually tasted fantastic ("it's like having it with fondue!") despite it being a little "nua" from the steaming.

Sharon Au

Sharon Au

What she ate: Churros

Yummy factor: Crisp churros coated in sugar and dipped in hot, thick chocolate sauce has to be one of life's greatest pleasures. Knowing fully well how her bestie Michelle Chong is sure to make a jibe at her, Sharon made sure to inform Michelle that the snack in question is not a youtiao. After all, she had it in Barcelona, not Bedok.

What they ate: Birthday cake and desserts

Yummy factor: Happy 21st, Joanna! Her birthday bash boasted a star-studded guess list, with the likes of Zoe Tay, Chen Hanwei, Vivian Lai, and Edmund Chen and family in attendance. Star power aside, we couldn't help but notice the floral-themed dessert table featuring Joanna’s elegant three-tier birthday cake alongside an assortment of sweet treats. How pretty!

Terence Cao

What he ate: Nasi padang

Yummy factor: How many can say they've dined with royalty? Well that's what Terence did. Tunku Samad played host to the actor in Johor Bahru, where they indulged in authentic nasi padang, rendang and washed it all down with butterfly pea drinks.

What they ate: British classics at The English House by Marco Pierre White

Yummy factor: No matter if the delish spread was prepared for reel or real life, the cast of Ch 8 drama Dear Neighbours would have polished it all of anyway. Perfectly done beef wellington, succulent whole lobsters and plenty of fries and pies to go around? Yes, please!

What she ate: Jiggly pancake

Yummy factor: What’s better than a fluffy, wobbly pancake dusted with fine icing sugar, you ask? Having it freshly served with ice-cream, fresh strawberries and a huge dollop of creamy goodness on the side, of course.

What she ate: Paddle pop ice cream

Yummy factor: Carla got her hands on the “super duper yummy” old school treat, which somehow has managed to withstand the test of time. We'll, we could all do with a toffee-flavoured rainbow every now and then.

What she ate: Breakfast with a view

Yummy factor: No Monday blues in sight when there's breakfast with a picturesque view. Here's Sonia living it up with a hearty breakfast spread while reading a paperback titled "The Art Of A Good Life" -- how apt.

What they ate: Zi char dinner

Yummy factor: Felicia and Jeffrey met up with celebrity hairstylist David Gan for dinner at KEK Seafood, a famous zi char place in the Alexandra area. And according to Felicia, the claypot pig liver they had  was really, really delicious. The raw onions probably added an extra kick!

Chen Hanwei

Chen Hanwei

What he ate: Fancy cakes

Yummy factor: Hanwei’s flamboyant taste in clothing and shoes seems to have influenced his preferences for cake (designs, that is). Interestingly, he was gifted a unique dumb bell-shaped cake, a floral-themed jelly cake and even attempted his own simple one at a baking school. Could he pull a Jeanette Aw and head off to Le Cordon Bleu in due time?

What she ate: Castella cake

Yummy factor: Wherever Fann goes, she's bound to attract the good stuff. And while filming All Is Well, Fann had freshly-prepared Ah Mah cake. Well-deserved treat, we say.

Bonnie Loo

Bonnie Loo

What she ate: Bread

Yummy factor: Carbs are life, especially if they come in the form of toast with a thick layer of fragrant kaya. We hope that wasn't all Bonnie had on Sunday though -- she deserves butter than that. Heh.
